He passed away on 25 of December. I read about his life and it made me respect him more. He was born blind in a poor family. He had no teacher so he had to listen to a radio until he remembered a song and then he tried to play it. It took him 15 years to learn guitar and it was so hard. He even bled when tried to play guitar and sometimes he cried while learning to play it. His life was special as much as his talent. I do not think Vietnam has another talented guitarist like him in any near future. We can no longer have a chance to hear him play for us anymore 😢
As a guitar player myself, I can tell you his talent is absolutely exceptional! In addition to being blind., he is playing rythym, Lead and percussion on one guitar! He is overlaying the lead solo licks on the root of each chord change while strumming the main verse chords AND playing percussion notes on the guitar body!! All without missing a beat!! Hotel California is recorded with 2 guitars and he combines both with percussion!! All without looking at the fretboard ... Wow!!
In my lifetime(I'm 74) I've never enjoyed any guitar player as much as I do this man. I grab my guitar and play rhythm with his music. He is incredible. I never tire of hearing him.

I also play guitar and I know this is a hard song to play, I’ve never witnessed a guitar player like this in my whole life, he’s got a disability but I tell you he’s playing a song that requires 4 guitar players. My respect for him and also the girl did a tremendous job with her voice. 5 Stars

Once in a LIFETIME talent. I am a musician and multi-instrumentalist and all I can say is this man was special... VERY SPECIAL. I don't have words to describe the talent he had. RIP Mr. Dien... your music will ALWAYS bring joy to millions.
I have been a subscriber to this fellow for over a year now. I am always impressed by his story and his ability to learn everything by ear. I am also impressed by the singers who's language is not English, and sings in English very well!!! Thank you ALL for sharing your talents and making me happy with your music.

There is no recording in parallel, especially in the last part of the song is clearly seen that with left hand he uses 2 fingers for the solo and other fingers for background. But sound recording quality is not good, I think it is recorded with iphone.

If anyone is reading this, please know that Hotel California is considered one of the most complicated songs to play on the guitar. The fact that this man learned it by, presumably by ear, is a monumental achievement. The vocals are also FANTASTIC! I am a huge Eagles fan and think everyone did a wonderful job! Zombie cover is bloody amazing, the joy that radiates from the old blind guy is fantastic. It's like Valium mate. 👍 I think because blind ppl don't hide the emotions on their face as they play as I was taught to.
The guitar work is amazing but the vocals take away from it. She is yelling most of the time. I am all for customizing a song for lyrical style. Yet, her yelling robs the song of the nuance of the lyrics. The original was so craftily done, just as this guitar player has done. You ought to listen carefully to the original and understand how his vocals danced with the music. This man's music danced by himself.
