Most groomers, like this one, are way too rough and don’t talk to these poor dogs to comfort them. These dogs especially need a kind word and hand because they don’t get it at home. This groomer should sign an agreement to be more gentle and comforting. Don’t just say you’re okay. It’s rush rush rush to the next dog.
When grooming, please keep in mind that these dogs are neglected.....which means they might have bad hips and knees. If they cry when you are trying to shave them down, or cannot stand for a lengthy time, it's because they CAN'T! It hurts. Young people have no concept as to how bad a bad hip or knee laxation hurts a dog.
Thank you for saying that, I'm almost in tears watching this little guy because we know that he is hurting both physically and emotionally and he is getting no compassion or loving voice and and hurt to watch him being treated when obviously his life has already been bad, I wished you would have shown him much more compassion and understood that he is an older dog and he' needs a gentler touch. I won't watch this channel again, it was too difficult watching that poor little dog and knowing that he was not being shown any love. I'm glad you're doing a service for the community, but I would never bring my animal there knowing that you didn't even talk to him nicely.
I was very sad at the end when you said that this dog is too old for a bandana , the condition he was when he came in, why doesnt he deserve to have something nice at the end,

Great groomer but more sympathy when grooming older dogs especially spreading the hips and making then stand on long nails with no assist leash in back

For a dog that hasn’t been cleaned to a while. He did an amazing job of not moving. 😊all animals do deserve a bandana, love , and attention they don’t know about. No matter how misbehaven they have been.
He probably feels so much better now. It was good that you gave him a cut where it us not matted and if they miss an appointment it will extend the life of the groom. that was a lot of work. I was suprised you worked so quickly with the clippers. That adds to his comfort.
I hope somebody tenderly hugs that little dog and tells him what a good dog he was. He looked exhausted from living like that and the ordeal. Whatever the reason for him being in that condition i pray he will know only kindness and love for the rest of his life. You Are Such A Good Dog!!
I love this channel, but I am so confused why didn't you start with the nail trim, before dragging him on those surfaces, he was so uncomfortable, was hard to watch that. poor baby. He deserves more pets
Hopefully the dip will help. She also mentioned talking to the owner about a flea preventative. A groomer can only do so much, unfortunately. Maybe a local pest control person will see video this and volunteer a free home visit or two.
I understand what your saying BUT a quick confident hand saves trauma . The whimpering is where he's sensitive.....with him it's his feet ,so again stringing it out only adds to the trauma . It's like pulling off a plaster . Another thing wee dogs actually get embarrassed by having dirty bums , they are very proud .
I would show way more compassion to dogs if I was a groomer... especially the old and neglected... you're hosing the poor guy down like he was a muddy bike
I agree also. I used to watch Marybeth groom dogs, i found her long before I found Vanessa. And wow there is such a massive difference. I feel like she doesnt quite enjoy her work? Or just overall personality? i dont know. But its very sad. When i first watched her i wasnt really noticing it at first. But especially when coming back to it now. its a huge difference between the two.
I'm so glad that you do this for people who have problems. They love their dogs but, like you said, things happen and the animals suffer for it. I have a Pomeranian. She is older so I don't take her to the groomer anymore. She hates it. I purchased shampoo and conditioner and I do her hair now. The most difficult problem is her nails. She will not let me touch her feet because she doesn't want her nails trimmed. My sister helps me with that and sometimes I take her to the Vet for them to do it.

This poor boy already feels miles better being unmatted, defleaed, and being able to walk properly without those matts and crazy nails impeding him. Now his skin and coat will improve because of being clean and open to the air. He doesn't stink walking around wearing his feces anymore, so likely he will get more love and positive attention at home. Since this service was free, it was a real kindness and blessing where it was most needed. I pray the situation also improves for the owner, so this guy never gets into that terrible shape ever again.
These older dogs truly are more challenging and sometimes we do have to jump around and do whatever they will allow us to do. They of us working on their feet and will only allow us to work on their legs. That’s what we do. good job Marybeth. I was touched that you were concerned about his comfort and gave him. The headrest kindness goes along way with these wonderful creatures.
I'm sure this poor baby feels just horrible with all that dirty fur. Treat this precious fur baby gentle poor baby is crying, stop and talk to the sweet little one give gentle pats.
There is absolutely no excuse for any dog to get in this condition. I don't care what family matters or money issues a person has, it takes a few minutes a day to brush your dog to prevent matting. And that's free to do while you're just spending time with the dog you claim you love. And those nails, my gosh, it's no wonder why he couldn't stand! It only takes a couple minutes to cut your dog's nails as well. There's no excuse! The person who owns that dog should not be able to own any pet!!!! And if you can't afford flea medicine for your pet, don't get a pet! Dogs are better than people! So are cats. They are loving and loyal and don't expect much. Their companionship is worth every penny you have to spend on them to take care of them. Maribeth - Thank you for helping him.

I’m sorry, but that is blatant neglect no matter how hard life is. Many of us, myself included, have dealt with difficult times in our lives more than once, but you just cannot forget about the ones you are responsible for, as though they don’t exist anymore! It is better to give them up, than let them suffer. I used to have a Pomeranian, and they are smart, sensitive little dogs that deserve better than this. I just don’t know how you do it, without wanting to call animal control on some of these cases. You are a kind, generous person to say the least!
Great job , showing kindness and compassion in grooming this guy for free. Allowing the owner, who I would assume might be elderly also to keep him. I hope their circumstances improve. Hats off to you.
No excuses for this owner letting this baby go for over a year and letting fleas eat at it skin and the poor dog could not scratch at all. The pain this baby has suffered for over a year at the hands of the owner .
I understand that sometimes life happens. However, you take a bath, and so should your dog. The dog did not get this bad in a month or two. I would rather do a home hair cut right away and bath him myself than let any dog get to this point.

She gets to do the free grooms because she has a RU-vid channel and gets paid from the RU-vid so it's not because she's trying to make money as much as pay for the free groups
Thanks for always thinking of the dogs' health and not how much money you can make in a day always. You never know what is going on with a dogs family. When you have an older dog you never know what thier mom and dad are going through. Maybe mom and dad are having medical issues they didn't have when they got their fur baby. A lot can change in 8 or 10 years in a person and they need someone like you who will help with their baby. You are doing a wonderful service for these dogs.😊

You did a great job on this dog, i think the dog was exhausted by the end. He probably never been excercised and not stood so long. What a good boy he was for you. Thank you for being kind and doing this for someone free of charge. You care about the dog first.
If the owner is the one who let this poor dog get this bad, then they should not ever have a dog in the first place let alone get this one back! So sad!!
A little love goes a long way. As a human old person, a hug and some nice words are REALLY important to me. This little guy maybe could have benefited just being talked to. The words don’t even matter, you could do all of your talking in a comforting voice and we in cyber world would get the message and this little guy would think that your world is 100% about him. Just a thought

That dog has been groomed before and CLEARLY knows what is going on. We took in my moms shi-tzu when she [mom] died. We groom him all the time and he knows whats up. If she was being "too rough" the dog will let her know. calm down. If the dog was that stressed it'll let her know. 3 or 4 little whimpers... not a big deal.
Thank you for taking care of this baby. I’m very understanding of how she could get into this condition. I’m 75 and sometimes don’t feel like brushing my Morkie and Bernedoodle. Especially the Bernedoodle is difficult to brush with the amount of arthritis in my hands. I am very blessed to have sufficient income to have them bathed weekly. Their nails and ears are taken care of also. My Morkie doesn’t ever drag his buttocks and the vet has never said anything about it needing to be drained so I assume it is okay. I gave up my monthly pedi/mani for their baths. They are worth it. I live alone and they are my emotional support. I need both. I have lost two dogs since I retired and don’t know how I would have managed without the second dog. I have grandchildren willing to take each dog should I become unable to care for them and the rescue I got the Morkie from will take him back as will the breeder i bought the bernedoodle from. this is just responsible ownership, especially at my age. but not everyone is this blessed. you are a blessing to these dogs.
Thank you for putting your fur babies first. Too many do not. Even young people should have a plan for their kids and animals just in case the worst happens.

I’m so sorry for this poor older dog and you should be commended for helping him. I’m sure he’ll be suffering with more ailments that are left untreated now too, if the owner didn’t recognize suffering like this……💁 shame.
Poor dog. I was surprised you kept tugging on his severely matted pelt to pull it off before it was completely clipped away. He's a senior dog who has clearly been through a lot. Please be more gentle. And not once did you speak any gentle kindnesses to reassure him, until nearly through the initial clip, when he started crying. If you'd been more gentle and reassuring he might not have become so stressed. But more time was spent talking about the smell and fleas, than to speak gentle reassurances to the poor old dog. I'm sorry you had to deal with the smell, but that dog has been through more than you have. You spent more sentences about spraying your trash for fleas than you did to calm his stress and be sweet to the little old guy, and he was behaving so well for you, despite his severe suffering. I applaud your work, but not your disposition toward those you're serving.

No nice word or letting them eat or drink in between . I am sorry but I miss the love for these animals..Sorry my English is not very good.
