Glad I found you after your recent appearance on Garibaldi Red podcast. Retired Nottingham "lad" and lifetime Reds fan here. Always enjoyed the RNS commentary and can remember a few classics from over the years. Look forward to some nostalgic Forest related stuff with perhaps a few insights in what was happening behind the scenes.....the O'Driscoll sacking springs to mind. Your favourite commentary's too.
I’ve been domiciled in Oz for the last 26 years myself Chippers so I’ve listened to you and Colin on hundreds of occasions -Matchday on BBCRN just isn’t the same without you. Looking forward to hearing your news and views on YT 👍
Methinks you've suffered enough. The worst twenty years in Forest history, the demise of Notts County and now stuck in Gladysland due to Covis lockdowns. Hopefully things will get better soon; Forest with Steve Cooper, NSW with easing of restrictions and, County? Mike in Oz
Really good idea this channel mate, keep at it and the subscribers will naturally come. Be good if you can use Zoom etc and get Colin Fray and the gang on.
Glad you're keeping well Chippers! Who was the most insightful player you interviewed? And which player interview really surprised you? (I remember a certain Joe Worrall one!)
Ha ha, yes that came as a shock! He’s a good man is Joe… I’ll answer these questions in a Q&A if that’s ok…. think people would be interested. Cheers Liam.
Come on then Chippers, your favourite game covering forest in those 20 years? Your favourite Colin Fray one liner? And what really went wrong with Billy 2nd time around? Was it immediately after his appointment? Cheers and glad to see you are well.
I hope you’re well Chippers. Since you left life went upside down for Forest. A couple of questions. Firstly, over the 20 years you covered Forest who were your worst and favourite managers and why? Secondly why did Billy Davis go sour in his second stint? And finally, I won’t keep you, is Chris Houghton the right man for the job? Take care and I hope you’ve kept well clear of Covid and are keeping well.
Looking forward to it Chippers. Hope that you don't do Billy a disservice like so many of the press have. His time with us still remains the best thing younger Forest supporters have to remember.
First of all I have subscribed really looking forward and to be honest you are really missed on the radio Nottingham sport show but after watching all the changes on the local bbc shows I get the feeling you moved at the right time finally you just need to put your contact details somewhere as me like many other won’t remember how to send questions to you 😎
Here's one about broadcasting. I always used to watch you from the Trent End with your headphones on and wondered what you were actually hearing. Do you hear the programme as broadcast (presumably with your own bits switched off as nobody can speak whilst you hear your own voice on a slight delay, there's a QI about it) or is it a link to the director giving you queues of when to speak? Or do you hear both? I've always wondered how that works as that would be a lot of information for your brain to take in at once. I have plenty of football related questions too but I've been burning to ask this one for about the last 20 years!
A lot of people have asked you about memories of managers, but do you have any particularly good/funny or bad/bizarre memories of players? Be it Forest, Notts, Stags or cricket.
Can you show us around Sydney during your Summer for us back in Nottingham freezing during our Winter? While am a Notts County fan, can you do a question and answer RU-vid clip with David Bracegirdle and Paul Johnson about your time Nottingham and covering NCCC.
Pre match in the car and post match in the car obviously were always informative and entertaining Chippers , you and Colin were a fantastic pairing, really good to hear your voice again and really hope you get the subscribers because can’t wait to hear about Forest stories , many questions below I was going to ask so can’t wait !
I really hope this works out, Always enjoy listening to you talking sports, Especially the Forest side. dont suppose you can guarrantee us 15 goals a season can you!!!
So nice to hear your voice again Chippers, miss Match Day without you. Look forward to hearing about the good and the not so good times and maybe you will be able to express your own thoughts about the goings on at Forest now that you are no longer connected to the beeb or Forest. The Billy Davis years would be particularly interesting. Look forward to your videos but you are only able to say ‘sunny Sydney ‘ once especially during November to April !!!
What happened for things to turn regarding Billy Davis from his first stint in charge compared to his second stint? Always wondered why he turned into a little dictator
Thanks Dr! No, never spoken to Hughton… but always thought he was a good manager, and has an excellent CV. Surprised it didn’t work out at Forest for him… do think he’ll come again though, his record tells you that.
Good to hear from you Chippers. Ive subscribed and I'm pretty certain I've set the alarm too! If you don't reach a thousand subscribers I hope you continue with it will be good to hear your stories. Looking forward to the Ashes?
Stick with Hughton? Or perhaps get rid and see if someone else could get more out of the current players? Would like to know your opinion if you’ve been following the situation
Lets hope you get to that 1000 mark pretty soon, really miss you and Colin Fray et all for the after match chats, the banter made up for some of the Sh** we had just watched/listed to.
Hope this continues, sure you have plenty of stories and a very interesting perspective! Hope you don’t go too crazy in lockdown, my brother lives in Melbourne and is losing it slightly 😂
great to see ur doing a youtube chippers :) made me smile & laugh many a time over those 20 years ! wished u could've seen us in the premier league tho! i was a teen last time we were up there
@@SportChippers It truly is a belter and still reminds me of yourself every time I hear it in the car on the way to the city ground. Looking forward to your stories and videos mate!
@@5manjaysan Yes! That song is the soundtrack to me leaving the house to make my way to the ground! I now have an almost Pavlovian response to it where I feel I have to find my keys! 😂
