I am covering the rack on the back of my truck with a canvas tarp from amazon to make it waterproof to sleep under and keep things dry.

Hey Justin! The green tarp cover provides a nice contrast with the brown truck body & the black trim and tires! I like the idea of using a shock cord & tension toggle for the back. The embossing hammer will come in VERY handy for a lot of stuff!

I sent the thermometer but I didn’t realize that it was so cheesy it was for the back patio. That laser hammer is awesome. Have a blessed day

Suggestion idea: cut/tailor both corners and reposition the grommets. Hem ends of canvas so they don't fray/tear. Put a bar/pole going across the bottom back where the end of the green canvas is and attach canvas using cordage to new re-positioned grommets.

Here's a suggestion. Take your flaps at the corners by the back tailgate and flip them around to the wheel well and tie it down to the other grommet that will hold them in place and then get a bungee cord for the two grommets at the back tailgate and just hook them down inside the truck while you're moving around. You know when you're driving the truck so it don't flap back and forth. That way you're able to open up the tailgate and you're also able to see your back lights on your truck. It also lets the water run off freely all the way around.

Hay bud you could tuck the ends in and tie them to the side hold downs might work to keep tail lights clear just sayin. That is a nice idea to cover the box of truck. You just keep doin what your doin. 😊

Justin try folding the back of tarp angles inward on themselves. Tuck them inside . Maybe

maybe a short bungee cord on each corner to keep it taught & then just undo them when u need to work w/tailgate

Could you flip the back top flap up and pull the two corners back in to the middle tie off on the sides then pull the top flap back down to tie offs on the tailgate? That would help the top to shed water out of the back.... not sure that all makes sense but your "a fart smeller" as my grandpa says. Looking good.

Didn’t see yesterday’s video till late. That was a nice deer and good processing video. I really like your 270 WSM, that is a nice rifle, powerful caliber as well.

Nice Versatile set up. Haul canoes and a shelter to sleep in. Nice cot in back perfect.
@rebeccasilveous8898

That will allow you to get in and out of the tailgate. Plus it'll let the water run down off the sides of the truck

I think you did pretty well putting the tie-downs on. I think it would have been easier with a tape measure and a chalk line. Just making a suggestion thats fantastic after the fact.😀

Use shock cord and a tension toggle for the back. Just run it through all the eyelets only and then you can draw it up. Easy open and close. Easy removal. You'll be able to see the tail lights. And you could probably use the tail gate without undoing anything.

I have always had issues with cutting line, rope, or even cable or chain. Mostly the thought of cutting line or rope weighs heavily.

Im thinking about sliding the whole thing forward and fold the front all in. Ill make some adjustments but im not happy with the back right now either
@vikingjoe93

@spiritoftheoutdoors Is it possible to just fold both the back flaps to the inside and just tie both grommets off with the back latch you put in your bed. So your string will go through two grommets, not one. That make sense?

Justin have you ever taken them canvas tarps and built a tent or T-P out of them?? Also how would you water proof the canvas tarps if it’s not waterproof like you said in the beginning of the video?? Thanks 🙏🏼 god bless
@SpiritoftheOutdoors
@SpiritoftheOutdoors 8 месяцев назад
Boiled linseed oil and turpentine but that is heavy, wax is probably better but id spray silicone and paint thinner mix on it

So far they good . Went to town in it today. I took it off when i got home so i can work on installing my bracing this week. I think that is a good tarp. Ill get it back in before the rain to check the waterproofing
