I am 100% convinced that many of the fatalities of soldiers who are deployed did not happen at the hands of "enemies" but happened by their their own hand through suicide. I believe that because I had some majors that asked me to "befriend" some of their guys (almost 50) to help them through their deployment because they were very depressed. Through talking to them I realized some were actually suicidal. I became their deployment "girlfriend" who talked to them whenever they needed someone. This is what happens when you put a person in a position to go against their conscience and do the unthinkable while being in fear mode for an extended period of time.
