@Medcram - Question on the Utah Data per a potentially significant confounding variable... Are they still calling anyone who has received their most recent dose or booster, “unvaccinated” during the following 14 days, if they are hospitalized for covid? And does the “vaccinated” include those who got their first two shot series, or single dose product, but never kept up on any boosters for the following 1-2 years, or just those who have had a dose less than 1 year or 6 months ago, but more than 14 days? These definitions become supremely important when making claims about what is happening to the “vaccinated” vs the “unvaccinated” Thank you.

thank you for the clarification- What will be important for myself, a Fam Med MD, is 1) are these admissions patients who are admitted for other reasons and happen to have COVID vs how many are admitted BECAUSE OF COVID, 2) how many ER visits, 3) how many infections are serious enough to be admitted, 4) how many of those wind up in the ICU, 5) how many die from the current strains, 6) how long it takes to recover for those folks every step of the way, 7) how many develop long-COVID. 8) how many in each step of the way are vaccinated vs not. I’m an OB/Gyn. It would be great to know incidence rate for COVID patients but it’s very difficult to get an accurate number. 6 people in my circle have had COVID recently. All had only home tests so were not reported as cases. All were very sick but able to stay home. So we really can’t see how many total cases are out there. That makes hospitalization rate a more reliable number. It’s hard to say whether many of these people are hospitalized due to COVID vs despite COVID. So many of them are intermediate. Would that CHF or COPD exacerbation patient required hospitalization if they didn’t have COVID at that time?

-Just a few short years ago, when the response to the pandemic brought the world to a standstill. Businesses were closed, people were arrested and beaten up for resisting the lockdowns. Many lost their jobs, numerous others were forced to undergo medical procedures they had good reason to object to. People were subject to arrest for kayaking, surfing, walking in the woods alone during lockdowns. New Zealand fined people for driving into other cities for KFC. Australia locked people up in quarantine facilities. Many otherwise normal people lost their minds supporting these draconian laws, opting instead to censor and cancel anyone who would speak out against it. In Canada, truck drivers were brutalized, unpersoned, had their business licenses taken away and their bank accounts frozen. In many European countries, the elderly were fined for refusing to take the jab. In Australia, people were brutalized by the police for not masking up in public. In the Netherlands, police sicced their K9 units on peaceful protesters. And all the while this was happening, BLM protesters burned American neighborhoods to the ground while politicians like Kamala Harris supported bail funds for these terrorists. Antifa took over an entire neighborhood in Seattle, turning it into a free-for-all police-free zone where crime, including rapes, were rampant. Several people, including minors, were killed. Those living in the neighborhood were displaced, their businesses never to recover. Countless were censored and canceled as conspiracy theorists for even questioning the efficacy of the lockdowns, of mask mandates, of the vaccines. Many today still are. You can't have these kinds of conversations on RU-vid, on TikTok, on Facebook or Instagram. You can only have these conversations on Twitter. Children were pulled out of schools to be taught via Zoom, their socialization brought to a standstill. The effects of their lack of cognitive development will have long-term consequences. The only silver lining was that parents were now made privy to what their kids were learning in classrooms, from teachers grooming them with gender ideology and critical race theory. Even still, society didn't need to be locked down. And the medical workers who demanded respect for their efforts in hospitals were treated, at least for awhile, as heroes -- frontline workers deserving of respect. Trust the science. That is until many of them refused to go through with the vaccine mandate. Then they too, like everyone else who resisted, was discarded.

I would like to know, in addition to vax and unvax status of those who present to hospital with covid, is their vitamin D level. I was happy to see you talk about vitamin D in your 10 tips if you get Covid video, and stress that you need to be taking it BEFORE you get sick. Early in the pandemic, doctors that were testing covid patients for their D levels showed that most people who presented to hospital with severe covid had d levels in the tank. Some weren't even breaking double digits. This might explain why BOTH vaccinated and unvaccinated still can end up in the hospital. Especially vaccinated. What is your opinion on this doctor? What if, in the end, it was something as simple as this? Personal experience of my family who is NOT vaccinated, but pay very close attention to our D levels is that Covid was a cold for us. I have had it twice and the second time was hardly a cough and sniffle. The first time I thank vitamin D, the second time I thank D and my natural immunity which now recognizes Covid.

People get older (if lucky) so that's a pre-existing condition. Although in 2021, Covid was the leading cause of death in the age group 45-54. Just old enough to be more vulnerable and young enough to pretend it didn't matter. The Economist magazine estimates that worldwide deaths are probably closer to 30 million, not 6, since lots of countries deliberately undercount or lack the ability to count. Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan probably counted correctly, but Florida, India, China, Russia, etc. did not (too embarrassing).

We need a risk management protocol to determine who would benefit from boosters. It would look at factors such as age and co-comorbidities + maybe test for antibodies and how long ago were you last infected with COVID. I suspect a triage approach based on age would be most appropriate, such that, as an example, the risk from the vaccines may be be greater than the risk from COVID for most of those under 40, the risk from COVID may be greater than the risk from the booster for those over 70, and for those in between those ages you would need to look closer at co-comorbidities, vaccine and infection histories and general health status, and likelihood of exposure based on lifestyle.
@christopherrobinson7541
@christopherrobinson7541 Год назад
Thank you Mr Spock, a logical approach. I agree in general, but with a few qualifications and exceptions. Testing for antibodies is a waste of time; some people do not seroconvert and hence do not produce antibodies. Also, antibody titer is not an indication of protection. (A cohort of protection). Most of the protection afforded by immunity acquired from previous infection and vaccination comes from the T cells; but we only test the antibody response, because that is easy, and not the T cell response, because it is more difficult. Testing to contribute to the decision to vaccinate or not is a waste of time and effort. As we age the T cell response declines, so age should be a factor in the risk/benefit analysis in deciding to vaccinate or not. Also comorbidities, but which ones? Also, all risks should be taken into account, including those from Long Covid; these risks are particularly important for the young, as they have more years left of productive life left to lose. In the UK those 65+ are being offered a booster. Also those at risk. And also soon anybody if you want to.

Edit: I need to point out that the OP, to which I responded below, has been majorly edited. The original post included an incorrect assertion that PCR testing failed to differentiate between different viruses (influenza, cold viruses and SARS-cov-2) hence the opening comments in my reply. Just so my comment is understood in context of the actual original post 🙂... I'm not sure what you mean by the "tests couldn't tell the flue {sic}, cold...". The PCR tests have always differentiated between different viruses. Identifying the different variants can't be done with SARS-cov-2 PCR tests with any specificity although some PCR results do indicate a likelihood of a particular variant however confirmation of any such variant is done through genome sequencing. Public health data on the different strains is obtained through epidemiological research using genome sequencing on population samples.

When I was a young athlete (cyclist) I was at elevated risk of dying for all the usual "young man" reasons, particularly feeling like I would never die. On a 50 mile ride in hilly terrain one summer day I let myself run out of electrolytes, leaving me curled up beside the road with seemingly every muscle below my diaphragm in spasm. My heart raced sporadically about once every few minutes for the first few weeks, settling down to every few hours after a couple of months, and finally disappearing in a couple of years. Doctor? Why would a fit young man see a doctor? Two years later I almost failed a pre-employment physical because of my unstable heart rhythm, my resting pulse running from 48 to 113 bpm and back in a handful of seconds after a bit of running in place. I bet a lot of young athletes are as careless with their health as I was. Finally, there are people like cyclist Michael Goolaerts who only find out the hard way that their heart may not be able to take the demands of competitive sports. You never know until you try.

The previous system classified all Omicron sublineages as part of the Omicron VOC and thus did not have the granularity needed to compare new descendent lineages with altered phenotypes to the Omicron parent lineages (BA.1, BA.2, BA.4/BA.5). Therefore, from 15 March 2023, the WHO variant tracking system will consider the classification of Omicron sublineages independently as variants under monitoring (VUMs), VOIs, or VOCs."

I remember when it was "just one little injection, for the elderly and immune compromised" that would "stop you from getting it, spreading it and killing granny", that was before the massive increase in excess deaths above the 5 years average and Pfizer admitting they never tested it for stopping transmission.

@@theclotshotdidit3115 Strictly there is no such thing as a sterilising vaccine, as no vaccine 100% stops infection. The current vaccines against COVID-19 reduce the incidence of serious disease and death. They also reduce the period when the host is infectious and to a same degree reduce the viral load. This reduces the probability of the the virus being passed from the nurse to her patients. Keeping the vaccination status up ro date depends on current recommendations and depends on the age and health status of the individual. The increase in real excess deaths is caused directly and indirectly by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Additional apparent excess deaths are due to the use of a simple 5 year average, which does not take into account changes in the population, such as an aging population, immigration etc, which for the UK is 2% to 4%. "Pfizer admitting they never tested it for stopping transmission" is at best a misunderstanding of what was stated by Pfizer. No vaccine is tested on its impact on transmission prior to release to the market. There are two methods for determining transmission the direct and the indirect method. After the clinical Phase I, II, & III trials the vaccine has been proven to be safe and effective, so EUA is awarded. Once released to market data is gathered (Phase IV) on transmission using the indirect method, where the secondary attack rate is measured. Essentially in social groups, such a family, if one person is known to be infected how many others in the group become infected. This requires large numbers of participants and a lot of time and money, and is impractical to do before release to market. The results of this trial were published Summer 2021. The direct method involves the participants deliberately being infected. This is done using animal models during pre-clinical trials, using different types of animals. Usually this type of trial on humans is regarded as unethical. However in the UK Oxford University conducted a trial where some participants were deliberately infected with the virus and exposed other who were not infected. The results confirmed those from the Phase IV study, transmission was reduced by 80%. "Pfizer admitting they never tested for transmission" is false, all the vaccines were tested in the same way. This was agreed with the FDA Spring 2020 very early in the development of the vaccines.

Actually, being unvaxxed greatly *increases* the risk of myocarditis. From the American Heart Association comes solid data (YT does not allow links) dated August 22, 2022: "COVID-19 infection poses higher risk for myocarditis than vaccines" The text reports as follows: The detailed analysis of nearly 43 million people was published Monday in the American Heart Association journal Circulation. "We found that across this large dataset, the entire COVID-19-vaccinated population of England during an important 12-month period of the pandemic when the COVID-19 vaccines first became available, the risk of myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination was quite small compared to the risk of myocarditis after COVID-19 infection," the study's lead author, Martina Patone, said in a news release. She is a statistician at the University of Oxford Nuffield Department of Primary Health Care Sciences in England. Research is better than listening to propaganda.

This has been covered on this channel multiple times. You are more likely to get myocarditis from a COVID infection than from any of the COVID vaccines. Vaccination also reduces the likelihood of getting myocarditis from a COVID infection vs being unvaccinated. Not to mention, cases of myocarditis from COVID are more severe than those that occur from the vaccine. Out of all the arguments against the vaccines, this is one of the worst.

if your vaccinated, don't get anymore. One dose should of been enough. The rumour is that the vaccine, because it makes your cells mimic the virus, the body learned not to attack Covid giving the virus time to enter your vital organs. I say this because the heat sensation is a nerve issue, it shouldn't happen if your immune system was able to stop it during the primary phase of the infection, which is the upper respitory system, not in your nervous system. Just a rumour, and it's your body your choice.
