The Nashulai Maasai Conservancy (@nashulai ) was the first conservancy created on the ancestral lands of Maasai Mara by its community, founded to reverse poverty, preserve culture, and conserve the wildlife that passes through it during the African Great Migration.
In our webinar, we saw how leading-edge technology was combined with profound ancestral knowledge in efforts to produce cleaning products. Furthermore, the conservancy showed extraordinary community mobilization by distributing bulk food to not only its own families but also to over 60,000 neighbors over 100km away!

In addition to its COVID-19 recovery efforts, the community also volunteers in restoring the Sekenani River and recently received an Equator Prize from the United Nations Development Programme.
