Great location for a walk - and the dogs clearly loved it to. Enjoyable to watch on a day when we were stuck indoors ! Many thanks. George and Trish - CaravanningMacs
Hi Sylvia, thank you and thanks for watching and leaving a comment. It's a great place for a day out and there's a nice wild camping spot 10 minutes down the road at Bowlees visitor centre if that's what you're in to.
Thanks Colin. Scenery is absolutely stunning and the dogs loved it. Have to keep an eye out for the sheep though and the odd grouse. I'll definitely be back there for another visit in the summer. 👍
Ian it’s mark from over the road. 😂😂. Me and my brother use this place as a starting point for most of our wild camps. There’s loads of good places up there. My favourite to camp is high cup nick. Good channel mate 👍. Keep it going
Hey Mark. Thanks. It’s a great place for the dogs. I’ll be all over the place soon. I’ll have a look at high cup nick. If there’s a spot to park I’ll be there. 👍🏻
Hi Graham, to be honest mate Julie is and A&E nurse and is always at work with the pandemic and all. NHS is so short of staff right now with staff sickness etc. Also she doesn't like walking as much as I do and she is not keen on my big dogs. She has two small dogs of her own. She has been in a couple of videos but you'll never see her in a dog walking one. Glad you enjoyed the scenery though. thanks for leaving a comment. 👍
Great vid. It's a bit odd watching videos made by a local cos I often know the places you go too! But just to add to this for any walkers out there, Cow Green is (one of) the starting points for a walk to High Cup Nick, and that is one of the must see places in the North Pennines, a huge glacial u-shaped valley. The walk goes over the watershed, but it's quite easy walking (I do recall having to plodge a bit though a stream), fairly level, no steep places - but 13 miles in total, and in the summer watch out for sheep if you're taking dogs.
That's some great local knowledge Brian. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure lots of people will benefit from your advice. It's the first time I had been to cow green but I had a great day. I stayed dry while I was walking and the scenery was breathtaking. It was quite a windy day hence the lack of me rambling on. Probably an improvement over my usual videos. 🤣🤣🤣
Lovely video Ian, have nt been up there for years !! Have you been to Cod Beck Reservoir ?? Thats a lovely place, near Osmotherly, keep the great content coming
Looked like a great trip Ian - Do you know if you can overnight there or is there signs prohibiting it? - I’m sure I went walking up there many many years ago - David 👍
Hi David. There is a sign that prohibits overnight camping but there is an overnight wild camping spot 15 miles down the road where it is allowed. Selset resevoir. Might have to have a night out there soon. 👍
