As stated most of the music in the film is from the radio playing on the farm (diagetic) Long time vegan Billy Eilish surfacing at the beginning of the film is perhaps a clue as to the subtle editing choices and subtext on display here. Confirmed by the poignant (non-diagetic) song in the credits. A tough topic to explore due to the UKs embedded cultural history when it comes to the complex subject matter. Don't forget farms haven't really wanted people to see what goes on on farms anymore than most people have wanted to know what goes on, until now, thankfully. Which is why I think it was stated by Arnold and Co in the press conference that they (correctly and understandably imho) sought interaction from the viewer, 'to invite the viewer'. Which I thought was actually managed quite well. Fwiw...as is the case with any art/artists worth their salt. Managing to create a film that sits between Disneyfication and Earthlings at the other end of the spectrum. A decent film to add to the wealth of material attempting to shed light on this subject. 9/10
