Coway also has a air purifier around $300 that covers 900sqft and has pellets that handle heavy smoke. One buyer said his house was freshly painted and the fumes where making him really sick. He bought the coway 250 and he said he had literally 0 problems breathing after that. He tried other expensive brands like IQair. Apparently the coway did better.
I have an Airmega 250 and love it. However, Coway is sneaky with their naming conventions. The Airmega 250’s CADR for dust is 261, while the cheaper and smaller Airmega 240’s CADR for dust is 292. Even better, the Airmega 230, which is smaller and cheaper, has the best CADR rating for dust of 294. I got this info from Coway’s website. FYI, it’s better to buy two smaller air purifiers and put them at opposite ends of a larger room. You’ll get consistently cleaner air that way with less noise.
But does the balloon stay floating above the Airmega? What happens to the balloon when the settings change? Is it a game that your kids play? Is it something to do with the airflow? Does the balloon float indefinitely? And what about the balloon?
