The show never talks about Data Dogs again. They said at some point this episode that they are genetically altered to be incredibly smart is all so they have a dog that is a super genius now.

Edit: You guys should definitely watch the movie after the series. Seeing the series in its entirety gives you a more rounded appreciation for the movie. Especially with how Spike's character arc goes. Once again, I can't emphasize how glad I am that this won the poll. More poll options should be like this show: short but sweet. I can't wait until they get to episode 5. Fingers crossed that the next winner will be Steins;Gate.

its funny how they mentioned the cabbage merchant from Avatar, Cowboy Bebeop was one of the biggest inspirations for the Avatar show. The Cabbage Merchant from Avatar is based on the 3 old doods from the start of the series, Spike and Jet inspired the character Jet and Spikes voice actor was Amon in Korra

Fun Fact: Hakim is modeled after Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Spike uses Jeet Kune Do so this is a homage to Game of Death. EDIT: JK they talked about it haha.

I think the movie works great as an "encore" of the show that you watch after the fact.

The Bebop movie takes place between episodes 23 and 24.

No matter how many times I watch Cowboy Bebop, the music throughout always blows me away. Absolutely gorgeous music! Awesome reactions, ah so good and I'm so happy you guys are enjoying it! This show really is fun, cool and stylish!

I always say watch in release order. The movie came out after the show and was made for people knowing how the story ends. I've seen reactors figure out the end of the show just by watching the movie because it echoes the themes of the show so well. It's also fun to figure out for yourself where the movie takes place in chronology of the show from the subtle hint and the cameo.

This episode is a lot of fun but I'm excited for best girl next week!

Fun fact for you, the corgi from RWBY, Zwei, is based off of the corgi from Cowboy Bebop. Once you learn the name, it will make even more sense.

You can feel the Boondocks inspirations from this episode. Hakeem reminded me of Bushido Brown.

My personal favourite thing about Bebop is the ever changing tone present throughout, typically reflecting the film genre/directorial style the episode is paying homage to. The horror tones of the 'Fridge' episode (a homage to Alien) are off-set by the highly stylised 'Ballad of Fallen Angels' where the show apes action movies, while this episode has a wonderful Turner and Hooch type of tone to it. Having each episode use film genres/films/series as a basis for its plot allows for each episode to feel fresh and new. Genres are reused here or there but overall, the series feels fresh each time you view it.

Not sure if you all know this but a fun fact is Keanu Reeves is a huge Cowboy Bebop fan. He was trying to get a live action movie going where he wanted to play Spike but it never happened.

I don't think it's ever been confirmed, but I believe Mr.Briney in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is a reference to the guy with the bird in this episode because he has a Wingull named Peeko.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, Spike's fighting style is Jeet Kune Do, the martial art Bruce Lee developed.

please watch the movie in between the episodes. Timeline over release date...I would say watch it even earlier then when it is set, just to give yourself an episode or 2 before the final chapter to not be so jarred by the animation difference ect.

The movie is definetly one to watch.
