Holy crap I never realized how fast spike was running in the opening those words just flying by what a run cycle

The graphic design of the logo switching the Japanese and English lettering seems both appropriate and respectful. Different but not better.

Love how the subtitles say *smooth music* when the intro starts. John Cho's got the right essence for Spike. Love playing *The Real Folk Blues* ending theme on guitar

It's a little clunky, but it's a decent homage to the anime. This made me hopeful that they have some awareness of the tone Cowboy bebop has! I was concerned they were gonna make it too edgy for the sake of being edgy & fake mature.

Here are the differences: 1. In original opening, Faye is walking and dancing around 2. In original opening, Spike is running fast while in Netflix opening, Spike is running slow 3. They spoil the entire plot in the Netflix opening including the ending of Spike vs Vicious 4. Ed was in the original opening while in the Netflix opening, she hasn't appeared yet (probably could be he because it's Netflix, what'd you expect?) 5. Instead it's Ein who appeared first in Netflix opening while in original, he didn't 6. In original opening, it was only the main characters while in Netflix opening, it's the whole characters.

They nailed the tone and setting of the anime. Compared to other live action adaptations, this is masterful. Im so excited. Cowboy Bebop took my anime virginity so many years ago. I love the reverence they have for the original. Its obvious the people who made this are true fans.

I hope Ed is in the next season.

Pretty cool, though I think I now know why the remake feels a bit off. The Mondrian-esque colors and theme (lines, squares, primary colors, etc) best befit animation stills/ still imagery, very light animation sequences and of the like, definitely considering that Mondrian strove for simplicity in his later works. I believe the creators understood the importance of that notion, so they limited the animation and even have stills, and used other creative endeavors to not take away from the overall theme in the original. In this case, I think a 1 to 1 adaptation might not have been the best option since it creates a rather jarring composition imo. Still though, excited for the adaptation!

My only complaint is the awkward running that John Cho does at 0:14 compared to the smooth and realistic look to the original (wow that’s ironic)

I’m only watching this because of the Jazz. I LOVE JAZZ. And that Jazz brings my life happiness

I think we need to teach Netflix what side by side means...

Not sure about the adaptation to be honest… the casting is a bit off, and the stiff movements of the actors felt a bit goofy (I get it, it’s not an anime so some movements will never be recreated, but fighting in CB is like dancing, shouldn’t be that stiff). Fey looks awkward and trying a little too hard to seem like a badass, and Spike’s actor seems to be too old for the role. I do quite like how Jet Black looks though. I just hope the feel won’t be too futuristic since the original has more of a western, rough, gritty sort of feel, despite it being set in the future. But I’m leaning on the fact that it’s just gonna be Live Action Death Note 2 Electric Boogalo

I remember the first time they talked about doing the live action they originally had Keanu Reeves as Spike. Keanu is a big fan of Cowboy Bebop. I like John Cho selection. I think Keanu is priced out of the role, and I can't see anything but John Wick when I see him

I kind of like the more mature look that John Cho gives the life casting of Spike.

Not too bad, pretty good. But it just reminded me of how hot Faye is supposed to be, and how she isn't really here... But John Cho looks really good as Spike and that was a great direct reenactment of Spike smoking at the start, though he should have been running later instead of the karate kicks, and maybe those hands moving could be Ed's...? But I doubt it since they have fingernails that long..

I love Cowboy Bebop! One of My Favourite Shows (Not just Anime) of All Time! I'm kind of optimistic about this live action one. The intro was a good recreation of the original. Feels like the makers care for the original anyways.

Feels to great to be a fan service to have the iconic intro of the anime series in live action, there should be hope that this can actually be so good.

I’m so ready for this! I’ll never forget the night this anime debuted on adult swim. I’ve been a fan ever since. I really dig this live action opening But you can’t please everyone. I swear some people just LOVE to complain. Smh

All I ever wanted was for them to stay close to the original. This makes me so happy.

It was faithful but cheesy at times. I'm hoping that was just because they were filming an intro, so they gave them loose direction like "Okay now pull out your gun and aim it all cool." Jet Black, so far, is the only one who really appears to be on character, but that really remains to be seen. I hope he's not too serious to dress up as a hippie to catch the Teddy Bomber lol. In a lot of ways, the original cartoon was silly and fun. It knew when and where to be silly, funny and absurd. I hope that wasn't lost in translation. Hopefully those weren't the scenes from the actual show or it's gonna feel less like a space western like Firefly, and more like a Netflix Anime like Death Note. Did you also notice most of the scenes that were shot for shot remakes of the anime moved scenes shot in dusty, gritty edgeworlds into flashy greenscreen CG cityscapes? Hopefully that was just placeholders. The dusty western feel is a part of the vibe of the original, despite being set in the future, in space, or on other planets. Everything was believably worn and aged, and visible economic differences were dramatic and pronouonced. I want this to succeed, I'm just nervous.

The entire time, my eyes were glued to the anime opening which makes me ask "why did it have to be redone in live action?" To this day I still tear up when I finish the anime and I don't get the feeling this new version will resonate with me on that level.

So excited about how Bebop should, could and deserves to be represented... but so nervous about how it's gonna happen!

Personally. It's a dumb thing that I'm enjoying. It seems most people think that this will "ruin the series". Not a single thing about the original series will change, it's still the same animated series that everyone loves. This is a different take on the same story, which is fine. It doesn't invalidate the original in any capacity. And... side note. It looks like Spike will still keep his Jericho 941, which makes me happy XD

I'm just waiting for Ed to show up!

A decent attempt so far but I still think the actress play Fay doesn't not quite feel like Fay. She feels a little generic, costume colors are off. Spike look good, Jet is ok, and the other characters seemed better than expected.

Honestly it looks cool. I just think CB is an iconic anime serires that should not be adapted. Lets just leave it alone in its coolness. Adapting books? Awesome. Adapting comics? Cool (we've seen enough though). Adapting Anime? No way!!

Extremely excited and very worried. It's great they kept the opening credits song, but how isn't there a slightly updated version? Red flags abound.

Since all the ones which I thought was going to be good became bad ( Yasuke and Record of Ragnarok), I'm hoping the reverse happens to this adaptation as in we expect it to be bad but does the opposite.

How is it the running animation from the original looks so much more organic and natural than the live actors. Also... at the risk of the criticism i will get for saying this, the lack of faye in the opening is sad. Not particularly a fan of oversexualization, but faye's entire character is using her sex appeal to get by, but nothing in the teaser or comments made by the creators suggest they are going to do her justice.

The anime intro its AWAY WAY BETTER than the Netflix live adaptation remake. Yeah Netflix got the song right but everything else made me laugh an bit sad , mad at the same time . They didn't show Ed anywhere in the there clip or at the end with all the rest of the Cowboy bebop gang or was Ed the teddy bear person idk ahaha the fuck . Yeah I'm just going to stick with the anime Version and just benchwatch the anime Version. 😑😒i just hate how companies don't get the anime / video game or there source material right or how come they don't go my the book 😤 idk 😐 😕 😑 😤 😔
