Travis is such a good guy! I have always enjoyed the bets with Brian Deegan when they race each other. I have been a big fan of both of them since their mx/sx and freestyle days.
Growing up watching motocross every weekend and rewatching X-Games content any time I wasn't doing homework, riding or reading Racer-X and TransWorld Motocross, I never imagined Brian Deegan would seem like such a likeable dude, but I'm glad to have been proven wrong. And Travis is the best person I could think of to be in charge of a series like this. Such a loveable maniac. It's too bad about the BRCC sponsorship, though. Even Travis couldn't get me to buy their shit.
Next round at Glen Helen we will be racing Can-Am’s where we are really close (last race at Glen Helen he beat me by 0.01 hundredths 🤦). It was Brian’s first race in the Group E and the field is solid. It was a big ask for him to jump in without practice but Brian is never afraid of a challenge. He missed the final on day 1 and we weren’t in the same heat day 2. We only got to race in the same race one time. I started pole and he started on the back row so we never got together on the track.
They don’t have the roar but they are a lot more powerful than any vehicle I’ve ever raced. We had an entry form for the supercars all last year and we never got more than 3 cars to sign up. It’s not for lack of effort, but racing is expensive and if we aren’t going electric, we aren’t racing.. we have 4 classes at nitrocross and the only class that is electric is the top class. Can Am are all spec vehicles and it’s a really inexpensive way for anyone to come race. Sign up and send it with us.
Lets just say Cowboy isn't that good of a driver, he is just good at marketing. Only ever did good in the stock rally class in utv's and had no shot at the pro class's.
Cowboy actually has some pretty good car control. He’s learning race craft. Still 2 seconds a lap off but he jumped into the deep end of the pool and he’s been making some big progress.. side note, I give credit to anyone that can find a way to go race. No matter how much money you started with (or didn’t start with) the only people racing for longer than a year or two had to figured out a way use what they accomplished before (ufc for cowboy, motocross for Deegan and I, stunt/tv work for foust, shoe company for block) then reinvested everything into themselves to pursue this passion/hobby.
