Changing direction on a horse is a simple thing to do. But if you can pivot on the horse’s forehand or on his haunches it can make for a cleaner turn and you can change direction and continue down the same track you rode up on. Eitan explains and the video shows clearly how to shift the weight to the back end of the horse for a turn on the haunches. This will free up the front legs to make the turn. For a turn on the forehand Eitan shows how to cue the horse to push his haunches over.
