They knew they were going to extend Dak and CD, but played these games and dicked away the free agency period anyway. A couple veteran DTs who can still play, a better option at WR2/3 and a RB is not asking too much. $27mil is more than enough.
@@derrellrivas3659 True, some seasons they at least pretend they're gonna get active. Like last year with Cooks and Gilmore. But then they never finish.
We will never win another Superbowl as long as Jerry Jones is ruining this team and has for years!!!! By passing up on Derek Henry and countless other talented players this tells you all about his incredible incompetence on the game of football!! Jerry PLEASE let a real GM help us win and take us to the Super Bowl!!! Step Down Brother!!!
The problem is that Jerry only hires people who will not challenge his decisions, making. Jerry won't hire jimmy because that would have mean he made a mistake by letting him go
Law - let us PRAY for a massive BEATDOWN on national tv tonight to put Jerry the GM in the HOTTEST of hot seats tonight. i think something along the lines of 38 - 15 should do the trick. lol the fact that this old geyser can't even cough up a 4th round pick Izzy Abakanada is a joke.
Jerry never thought about firing himself because he knew the fan base is very large and delusional! The most valuable franchise in sports. Proof in the pudding
I'm going to keep it real. I don't think that it will help as far as Jerry stepping away from being an GM. Remember he said they would have to still come to him so no one can do it better but him.ialsothinj Jerry so not trust anyone not even his family forget about outside his family. I do not think he even trust Will McClay. Maybe he might think that by hiring an GM may take away something from him like the fame from the media. Jimmy I think would be great, butthey all know that it would've very stressful working with him.Gene, the wife I think would hire an GM. In an heart beat before any other Jones would especially before that Stephen if something was to happen to Jerry. This is my personal feelings.
Ya man gm Jerry b messn up if he was gnna resign lamb an dak all along he could of freed up the cap space earlier n the off season an that could of got u Henry and gillmore don't make no sense if u want to win so it is Jerry's fault stuff like that !!
The Cowboys draft really well but they cannot put the right group on the field or use them properly, to save their lives! I don’t blame players or coaches for that, it’s on Jerry. Go sit in your billionaire booth, sail your billionaire yacht, or travel the world while collecting your billions, but for the love of all legendary Cowboys players, coaches, and history, fire yourself as GM and get a real GM!
Unfortunately Cowboys family, our team will be in the Jones family for many, many, MANY years to come. Jerry has "ok'd" some good moves but how many Cowboy greats has JJ wasted... D.Ware J.Witten Sean Lee Dez Bryant Tyron Smith Tony Romo Zach Martin Zeke Travis Fredrick T.Newman Just to name a few. Let's not forget just a couple of years ago letting Amari Cooper go for a snickers bar. We as fans are let down year after year while JJ seems to only care about being average. As long as people are talking about the Cowboys positive or negative then he's happy. Jerry would never step away from being the GM because if he did and somehow we did make it or even win the Superbowl then people around the world would say he should have stepped down years ago..and we all know that Jerry Jones the owner, Jerry Jones the GM and Jerry Jones the man would never allow his ego to be in that position. So unfortunately Cowboys nation, as long as there's a Jones alive we will have to deal with being average. But hey!!! At least the Cowboys are the most valued team in sports!🙄
Yeah man I mean these are things we’ve been discussing for years as fans, but it will never change. Jerry is convinced he is a “football guy” and well….he’s not.
HOGWASH! I get tired of Jerry too, but I would NEVER SIDE with a media that makes their income, hating us. The fan community, led by THE SAME MEDIA WE HATE, is now trying to blame Jones for players with no confidence in big games. You all loved Mazi, Deuce, Rico and the receivers in the off-season. Much of the same can be said of the defense. Nobody complained week 1. Look at the other teams also struggling. . You claim that Will McClay can do no wrong. TRUST that Jimmy would TRADE weak, immature players. When we won in the 90's we made over 50 trades. That won't sit well with the fans of today and their love affair with MOMMA BOYS. You all also love McCarthey, letting it go to your heads, with guaranteed wins versus Giants/Commanders.
Well, 💣 Law Nation Sports 💣 Jerry loves, and he and Stephen BOTH admits frequently that "We like our players" They also have expressed confidence in the coaches they've hired Now, most recently, Jerry's taken full blame/responsibility for delaying in paying CeeDee, D4K, and MP11... "Waiting on MORE LEAVES to fall, etc" With this said,,, The blame lies squarely at their feet Bc whether players are inept or not... Whether coaching is the problem or not... Even if it's both... The Owner and GM is the alpha and omega of this organization 😮... Point-blank periodt 😡 He causes and / or allows the effects
PS - I like the idea of bringing back Jimmy, but he just ain't dialed into that college football talent like he was back then. He knew which guys to get because he coached them, or coached against them, successfully.
Man I can’t even watch this.. to just even think about Jimmy being the GM and Jerry stepping down… nothing would make me happier. However that salty McMuffin lover will never do it. 😭☹️
I am so fed up with this guy, Law I don't even know where to start. Can't stand Jerry. Even as a kid back in the 90's, I remember thinking "this dude is a clown." Didn't like him then when we were winning! And here we are 32 years later with Jerry doing it his way. His way is a joke.
Just wait until Dak's salary cap hit kicks in next year because of Dak's massive salary, the Dallas Cowboys won't be able to afford any help for Dak. Dak's cap hit is over 80 million next year
Jerry is a billionaire. He ain’t going to fire himself! He just wants Mike to win 12 games, get you to buy tickets, and he’s still a billionaire with a yacht!
I agree with you, too, Law, in that it's still too early to anoint or doom this season I said, after week 1, that it was premature to say that this defense was fixed as most were proclaiming Now, I maintain that with 2 rookie Olinemen and a new defensive scheme,,, Coupled with the loss of 4 key defensive starters and heavy rotational players,,, That this yr would began as a challenge But yeah, Not addressing a known WR3,,,Not addressing a notable RB,,,Not addressing DT, Edge, and CB3... The truth of fans pessimism is blatantly obvious Let's hope last weeks 4th is what we'll see from here on out, minimally With the way we started 🆚 Cleveland And the way we ended 🆚 Baltimore... There's signs of Winds of Change I'm still reserved in it being enough for a deep.plsyoff run bc other teams will continue to tweak their rosters too
Prescott needs to hit 88 not running down the field next to the defender he needs to cut across the middle and needs to hit him on the run. The only problem with that Prescott, an inaccurate passer can’t hit the side of a bar with a pass
Come on yall... Jerry managed to sign both Lamb and Dak to fair market value contracts with one to go next year in Micah which was a tall mountain to climb. We should just settle it that can't be done this year look forward to the next 2-3 years. Why this time? We actually don't know how long it's going take build a playoff caliber team. Lamb need help and ground game is none existent the defense as we can see can't stop the run and not up to specs. So we need the contracts to soak in so we can have money to spend tooling the offense but can mostly be done through the draft. The defense however could be the costly side of the retooling requiring some veterans off free agency and trades. If Jones decides on a new HC this could take a little longer but at least we should have some money under the cap... Dak is most likely on his last contract in pro football and we do know he has what it takes to win and so does Mr.Jones but he can't do it alone as most you have already analyzed.
the fact his EGO is so big is exactly why he will never do it on his own terms. either we rout him publicly and shame TF outa him CONSTANTLY to where everyone around him is like, hey man, maybe its time. there is no other way, he may give it up to Steven, but that is in no way a step forward.
Sign a petition for Jerry Jones to fire himself from the GM position. This organization is not just a laughingstock so are the fanbase. Start a petition for the fans not to attend games inside of that stadium or buy Dallas Cowboys merch, that's how you speak to Jerry Jones and get his attention. But the truth is Jerry Jones knows regardless how the fans feel about him or the players play on the field, he knows and is confident that the fans will be in that stadium sold out come game day. Like Jerry Jones says I'm feeling mighty confident and optimistic about this year and moving forward 😅😅😅.
The truth is that Jerry jones has always been a terrible GM because he allowed himself to draft terrible players starting with Dak Prescott. Now he gave Dak Prescott a contract extension why. Dak Prescott didn’t deserve it. He can’t even throw the ball much less pass it. Jerry Jones continues to hold on to these idiots who can’t even play anymore because they are passed their prime. He should fire himself as both the Owner and GM.
You know what brought about change to the cowboys back in the late 80's when they sucked. Yeah the fans quit going to and spending money on the team and it was sold. So you want real change quit going to the games and quit buying cowboys jerseys and other nonsense. The only way Jerry makes true changes is if he loses about 6 billion dollars
When you have a person, who controls an organization, who would rather lose than give credit to someone else and win, you can not overcome it. You are doomed from the start.
Two points. Jerry should have elevated Jimmy to be the GM and we would have seen continued success in the 90's. Second, Jerry is focused on press and clicks. He kept CeeDee's contract negotiating going all off season. This was because CeeDee and Cowboys would be talked about all of July and August. He waited to sign Dak on opening day. This was to push the Cowboys onto the front page on opening day ahead of all other stories. Jerry needs to go. His ability to evaluate talent is 0.
How about the time Jerry Jones dressed up as a blind referee for Halloween. Yea that's right, during the season he did that. Do you think referees were unbiased when calling any future Cowboy games. His ego is an issue.
Theres a good number of us that have been saying this for several years. This team is long past due for a proper GM. Only tings is that Jerry's ego won't allow him to make that move and there's no way that he'd give that person full autonomy.
Here is the truth Those who live in the Past are destined to repeat it. Old coaches old philosophy in a New NFL. Fans Living only in thought of past championships forget what it took to get there. Truth is to get there we had to get a coach who never did it struggle build his culture then we won. Now we think a certain coach or a certain player is a quick fix. Jerry is the problem but we are all enablers. I just wish those with access would tell him what he needs to hear not what he wants to hear.
