Jerry Jones gets more and more optimistic after each loss when interviewed. He's not fooling anyone ; he knows it's another year ( 8 if counting) that high hopes end in the same way...😢😢😢
Shango-San you are right! The minute we fumbled on the one yard line. I felt it was a bad sign and the we might lose this game and that mistake would cost us the game. Another key 🔑 was we the stupid penalties that stalled drives on offense and extended drives for the opponent on offense. I know we Cowboys but no sense in us shooting ourselves in the foot.
@@michaelharrington75Shango had a whole rant about it when the Cowboys lost to the Eagles in Philly 😂. Zero reason to hate on a legal play. Stop it or 🤫 🎯
@@blazejay202 I haven't heard Cowboys fans criticizing it, as the original comment suggested. I did hear the nfl was thinking about banning it. But teams have been doing it for a long time.
@@thedallascowboyshow I started watching you back in 2012 in high school and you haven’t been wrong with your takes and it’s true no run game is gonna bite us in he ass
At this point is anything else expected from this team? Philly gave them a do over by blowing the game to the Seekawks, what does Dallas do? Throw the hot potato right back to the Eggs. Sports talking heads keep talking about how Buffalo and Miami had "something to play for", doesn't Dallas have something to play for? Or are they just happy getting invited to the playoffs?
@@thedallascowboyshow im a little over my doom and gloom- it is fixable; as John machota said over twitter he’d 100% take a game like this over that stinker in Buffalo. But the thing is: you need to win these games- you have to take what you get and overcome the adversity. Unfortunately the defense didn’t get that message tonight. Maybe when oline gets back to full health we can anticipate better games in time for the playoffs. Because going on the road like this inspires no confidence.
Merry Christmas! I don’t know what to say about the officiating anymore. It doesn’t pass the smell test. As far as our end, you’re right we don’t have the right staffing to get the job done.
Tony Pollard is not an starter/redzone back we should’ve kept Zeke how Zeke was washed and he had 13 touchdowns in a season I was saying this all last year TP can’t run through a piece wet cotton on the goaline
I’m so happy to hear someone else who says the exact, no short yardage player or plays , using a full back who hasn’t been playing in the regular play schemes, McCarthy is just as dumb as Jerry Jones. Dallas needs a coach that Jerry can’t manipulate
People aren’t looking at the whole picture. If you pass on the 1 yard line, then you have serious confidence issues with running the football. SF and Philly would never…
I think that the main thing we need to take away from this is that Shango is no longer allowed to leave the country during the season. We lose AND miss great streams! In all honesty, Happy Holidays to you and yours Sir.
Thank you for saying what I had been arguing about for years, even during the time they drafted Zeke. The Cowboys are incapable of running the in short yardage. Even in their blowout wins they kicked so many more field goals than they should gave because of it. It catches up to them because it is a glaring weakness as they head into the postseason where they will not survive because better competition will not respect their ability to run the ball. They will sit back on the pass and then exploit their other weakness, which is trying to stop runs up the gut with undersized safeties playing as linebackers and being unable to shred blocks from 325 lb offensive guards.
other than CeDee Lamb and Dak, other players just seem to be average, even Dak sometimes, he’s not a game changer that’s for sure. all the hype he gets I expect more, same with the defense, overhyped and overrated, coaching is pathetic, no accountability. Lame play calling. penalties plaque cowboys as usual
We have a short yardage offense. Hunter Leupke our fullback. He fumbles one time and we got away from the whole game plan. Those first 2 drives were great …
if a late December loss for the Cowboys ruined my Christmas..i would never have a good Christmas..joking aside they are just a badly coached team all the way around.
Don’t know man. I know Pollard isn’t a short yardage back but if the offensive line can block at all for a short yardage situation we would be fine with him most of the time. Dowdle too. Pollard runs pretty damn hard for a finesse back. 1st and goal on the 1 or 2 and calling a drop back play action and leaving a man unblocked is a terrible call. I’d rather fail 4 times in a row trying to run. This team doesn’t commit to the run. Period. Pollard averages around what Henry does this year per carry. It isn’t like Pollard is trash. Our run game isn’t designed for him. Look at how SF uses backs. How Miami does it. Then watch us. We are uncreative and predictable when we hand it off. Should we have a real short yardage back? Hell yes. But that’s no excuse for not trying it. Passing it obviously hasn’t worked
I thought Duece Vaughan would have contributed some this year! I know he's small but he ran pretty good in college not to show something in the NFL. They should play him
there are only 2 reasons the cowboys lost.....1st the fumble at goal-line..and the procedure penalty on 2 dallas players cost them a first down when driving.......CMON NOW....for the past 30 yrs....the cowboys will break their fans hearts and souls when it matters most....lmfao
Dallas is always one step forward and 2 steps back. We'll solve the run in a couple of years and then have no passing. We'll solve passing, then no defense. We'll solve defense and start over again with no run.
Wassup Shango. Two problems I see with our Cowboys, o-line is terrible, and we don't have any linebackers on defense. We can't stop the run. I love Tyrone Smith. But every time he gets injured, our offensive line plays like crap. Mikal Parsons: he's overhyped. He's not built like a pass rusher. But Dan Quinn still wants him to rush the QB. Not understanding that concept. Right now, I'm not confident we can beat Detroit next week.
The refs didn't call 3 def holding 5 offense holdings and 1 pass interference in the 1st half I also agree especially on defense personnel is lacking too many players playing out of position smh 🤦🏿 ☆☆☆☆☆..☆
It's a shame when you lose the game on the first possession, and we did. We all knew it. First you have Pollard being too weak to get into the endzone and then we can't complete a basic handoff. We are too mentally weak a team...heck weak almost everywhere except D line and the word is out that you can hold us all you want and there will be no calls.
I'm seeing, in no particular order 1. Cant stop the run 2. Cant run consistently or gain short yardage 3. O line is average 4. Special teams doesn't contribute to wins 5. Goal line struggles
There is a night and day difference between Ferguson in the pass game and run game. I see why they drafted a run blocking TE (Schoonmaker). True we don't have a power run game but Dak is also bigger than most QBs and they were probably counting on his size being able to pick up a yard or 2.
Their whole mindset is we paid pollard 11 million this year so he is the guy and he has to do his job. Well he hasn’t done fuck all hasn’t broken off a single run more than 10 yards this year where he had several last year. Not to mention our o line doesnt BLOCK. The niners score touchdowns with short screen passes. Why? Because EVERYONE ON THAT TEAM B L O C K S. WE DONT.
Safe to say we need a bigger back .. but we also need to add to our OLINE and Dline also linebacker We got some damn needs man !! I think our run defense is the biggest issue
We had that same doubt last year and we probably would. It’s bigger fish like the 49ers I’m concerned about the most, but in the playoffs, you have to succeed no matter the team. But dang gotta keep misspeaking about this team; December collapses like this just can’t happen.
The Bears gave the ball to the Refrigerator and he had waaaaaay less experience carrying the ball than Leupke has. To me it looked like Leupke thought it was supposed to be a fake handoff. He never reacted to the ball falling.
I wanted Osirus Torrennce badly because of our run issues. Didn't happen. We need a LT and a bulldozer center in the draft. Pick up the back late for 3rd down next year!
No offense, but sir, the Dallas Cowboys ownership didn't give us a short yardage offense, a defense that can stop the run, or a coach with a tough mindset who can parse that onto the players. We have a mentally weak team who when punched in the mouth fold like even worse than a deck of cards. So I want to hear how the Joneses didn't give us a short yardage offense They didn't give us the mindset of a winner either. Look at San Francisco. Mindset of a winner... Meaning they don't beat themselves. I've been a Cowboys fan since '77 and I'm just really dismayed at this point. I'm so tired of it already
My sentiments exactly. I was so disappointed after the trade deadline when we did nothing to improve this team, I stopped watching the games because I knew when we got to this part of the season we would struggle in the run game. Derrick Henry was so obvious but the Cowboys are always worried about their draft capital and salary cap that they don’t see glaring needs. I knew we would not be serious contenders for a Super Bowl run and at the end of the day that’s all that matters for Cowboy fans. Are we a strong enough team to contend for a SB and right now, we’re not!!
stop blaming everyone but the cowboys!! the great pretender Dak After 8 years has won nothing.. a underweight Micah Parsons who needs to be moved back tpo outside linebacker as he was in collage..
Well Shango I understand them giving Leupke some touches as we acknowledged our need for short yardage. He gets that touchdown and we're looking at this differently. It's growing pains with him. I'd rather they had worked him into the offense way earlier so he has that live experience though.
Hunter is a rookie fullback… he’s not SUPPOSED to be our main short yardage threat. We should have someone experienced…if we were serious about winning. We are not.
@@thedallascowboyshow Yeah and I agree with you on that. It just shows how messed up our run game is and how much we miss Zeke. It like....I understand why they're doing it? Maybe trying to mold him into our "Kyle Juszczyk". But the timing of it is the only thing im not too thrilled about. Short yardage up to this point was all Rico.
Merry Christmas G! Inconsistent run block and pass block. Run game reminds me when they thought Joseph Randle could carry the run offense. Early turnover hurt and 3rd down on offense and defense inconsistent. Only thing is it wasn’t a blowout so media won’t have a field day.
RB is going to be the headline for the cowboys off-season. You have pollard who is franchised tagged this season and he's declining. I hope the front office can execute on this position for next season.
The Texas coast offense was going to be inconsistent coming from Jason Garrett and kleen Moore crapp show, and the linebacker play is trash even if LVE was there. The cowboys are 1& and done lumping into the playoffs.thats what it's going to be!
Mccarthy failed us today,Lipkiu on the goaline carry ,wtf did he decide today we are gonna start getting our 3rd string rb involved in our offense, it was his Xmas wish turned nightmare
So true, this late into the season and now McCarthy want to use a full back, Derrick Henry would have been the perfect replacement for Zeke and Jerry should’ve addressed that when Henry was available to trade
I see a few issues with this team. Their running game is very stagnant and it causes them to be overly aggressive on short yardage downs when they should be able to run the ball for a first down. Pollard isn't the player he was last year and reality is he may never be what the Cowboys thought he could be so it's likely he won't be back next year. This team needs a running back a swing tackle, a true middle linebacker, and more edge defenders that aren't just rush specialist. They need to find a way to have a better short field play call sheet to supplement the run. Whether that's screen's to Lamb, Cook, and Turpin or feeding the tightend on short yardage something had got to give. I think Dallas should've put more pressure on Tua because he doesn't want to get hit so he's throwing the ball before his receivers get out of their breaks. The only thing you can do in that situation is make him have to throw it even faster to throw off the timing. That means you have to press those outside receivers and place a robber over the middle while bracketing the deep hash. Corners should've been using the sideline as an extra defender against those guys speed. You have to to get your hands on them quick.
Shango....sure part of it is defensive execution, but there's more to it than that. 3 that come to mind right away.... 1. Does this team ever blitz unless it's 3rd and 10+? 2. Gilmore gets injured for a play on the last drive....do they move Bland to Hill? NO. They bring a guy in that doesn't play CB and stick him on the fastest receiver in the league. 3. 3rd and short on the Dolphins last drive, why they switch coverage styles for that play after running what was working the rest of the game? Also, Dak had at least 5 times (2 he was sacked) where he had CLEAR openings to run for positive yardage, but he stayed in the collapsing pocket without even budging.
@@thedallascowboyshow then the Cowboys still lose. Unless there's some sort of miracle ending with Lance. Point is, we won't have to listen to everyone talk about how "great" the QB is when he's a back up that can beat the same sub .500 teams the starter can.
The front office if I remember correctly was waiting for the phone to ring. They weren't calling anyone the leader said. Gm you got to do better, since you claim you want to win b4 your time is up. Prove it.
Yeah the tush push/ brotherly shove would have worked on that scrimmage play but you were totally against it. Wanting the league to ban it. Do you still feel the same way now?
