Thanks for the shout out bro! I agree 100% with your review. I did a comparison of the E7 Pro vs T5 and both had the similar problem with ANC reducing sound quality as far as bass is concerned.
You got a backwards pair. I ordered 3 pairs of these. One for myself, my wife and one for my father. The ones my wife and I got were fine but the ones my father got had the ANC backwards. This explains exactly what is going with yours. Even in Amazon reviews there are a small number of them complaining of the same backwards issue. The static/music cutting in and out is normal however. It happens whenever you have the ANC on and you move/shake the headphones abruptly. Not sure why it happens but it does it with all 3 pairs I ordered. That's also how you can tell the ANC is on cause it only does it in that mode. Don't worry your pair isn't defective, it's just bad quality control on cowins part. Not the best headphones in their price range but not the worst. Just average. Ps. These headphones should sound the best with ANC off
I'm wearing mine right now. Got them a couple of days ago. Comfortable! I have worn them while gaming with glasses on for a couple of hours without any problems. Not sure what to think of the noise cancelling feature though. Regardless they sound great. I'm good with these!
A year ago I got the regular E7s and they also went in and out depending on if you moved them or not, after seeing many ads for them I thought they would be better than they were. I am glad you reviewed these because I thought of getting the PRO edition but now I know its the same product with an additional name.
I look at it this way, I wanted to build a community and it's here now. So I'm excited to talk with the people who watch my videos. Also, you took time out of your day to write a comment so it's the right thing to do at at least acknowledge anyone who is showing love. It's something I have no intention of ever stopping.
I got a lot of issues with the E7 Pro: - It doesn't work without being charged, even if plugged in. - If you don't use bluetooth and just want to play the sound in wired mode, the bluetooth must still be turned on, which will gradually deplete the battery charge (and turn off the sound when it's 0%), AND turn on the super bright blinking blue LED light which is an eyesore if you're in the dark. - While you're wearing these, using the sliding buttons (to change mode) results in ear-piercing crackling noises. - Noise cancelling barely works. It also makes the sound much worse. - The bluetooth turns on and off randomly while the button is already OFF, which startled me quite a few times because the notification tones sound very eerie. I'd rate these 1/10. Worst headphones I've ever used. Idk if I got a lemon but will never buy from the brand again 😭
I’ve had these for a year. Pros: comfortable! With glasses on for hours too. My husband has a super expensive fancy pair and I can’t wear them for mor then five min. Love the sound with or without anc. Cons: people don’t like me using them for phone calls. They understand me better with noise canceling engaged but if I move my head at all they loose me. Auto dictation does not work with them on but maybe it doesn’t work for any of them. Thanks for your serenade ❤️
I performed two very simple "external sound reduction" tests with these Cowin E7 Pro headphones. Firstly a sound isolation test and secondly, an Active Noise Cancellation test. Thats because I bought these Cowin E7 Pro headphones to watch movies on my iPad during long flights on jet planes. And thats exactly why many people buy ANC headphones....right? Not to listen to music in gyms or in a quiet room as most reviewers do when they test them out! People prefer to use (subtle) firm fitting ear buds for music listening in gyms or in noisy work environments, or on buses and trains. Firstly I ran a "cabin jet engine noise" RU-vid video whilst taking the headphones on and off my ears (Sound isolation test). Then I switched the headphones on whilst the same Cabin jet engine noise video was playing, and switched between BT and ANC, without playing any music or movies through the headphones and noted the following: 1. Putting the Cowin E7 Pro headphones over my ears did provide some reasonable jet engine sound isolation due to the nice, snug, positive fit around my ears - but only to about 50%. This is actually not bad for a headphone sound isolation test. Especially a budget one! Its worth noting that these Cowin E7 Pros certainly have better sound isolation than two other budget headphones Ive tried. And thats half the battle won when it comes to reducing annoying and irritating aircraft jet engine noise. 2. Switching the headphones on to BT mode made NO difference in reducing the ambient cabin jet engine noise. 3. Switching them on to ANC mode cut out a significant amount of low end ambient jet engine noise, but only a slight reduction in high end jet engine noise. Combined with thier reasonable sound isolation qualities, this is exactly what these headphones are designed to do. So a big PASS as far as Im concerned! CONCLUSION: The combined dual effect of reasonable sound isolation and Active Noise Cancellation on these headphones is quite effective in reducing ambient aircraft jet engine noise. Combined with thier excellent wearing comfort, these headphones would be ideal to watch downloaded movies or listen to music on your smartphone, iPad or android tablet during a long boring plane trip. TAKE NOTE TRAVIS! Unfortunately many reviewers do not test the effectiveness of ANC headphones using these 2 simple tests so making thier tests/reviews IRRELEVENT for many people who puchase them mainly for long plane trips Please consider, on a plane trip, due to the amount of ambient jet engine noise, sound quality wont be the top priority, nor will it make much difference. Its more about reducing ambient jet engine noise for "better and more comfortable listening" - mainly of movies.
I've been using my E7's for a couple of weeks now and think they are a very good value. They are very comfortable and sound great for the price. Mine are confusing in that you have to press the button in the higher position to lower the volume or skip to previous track. If that's by design, then it seems counterintuitive. A quality control issue perhaps?
You deserve way, way more Subscribers. IMO every wireless headphones should have a wired option as well as just wireless. The cutting in and out 'may' have been caused by covering the mic for the noise cancellation. 👍👍
Thanks so much! Interesting theory about the covering the mic. Maybe, but even so, that shouldn't happen. Thanks for your constant support. I appreciate it.
Travis McP .. Yeah especially with TVs that can be very expressive. There's a prominent Chinese UK "Professional TV Calibrator" that does just that and apparently doesn't require a Product Sponsored By acknowledgement.
I've had a few issues with them, they don't have very good bluetooth, but only when trying to connect to my laptop, everything else is fine over bluetooth but the e7's just don't sound good. They turn off and on when around static, which means that I can't have my fuzzy blanket on, or they'll power loop, and once the made a loud screeching sound for litterally no reason after not using them for a few days. I have trust issues putting them back on now and are looking for some new headphones. Ehh, the first pair was good so I Bought them again when I dropped them on accidently from too high up and got that crap.
I recently got the e7 and they have been alright. I’m not sure where the noise cancellation comes in because on either setting I can still hear what’s happening when I’m not wearing them. Overall, I’m happy with the product based on my budget. What bugs me is that you can’t connect with more than one Bluetooth device at same time. You have to manually disconnect the previous device in order to connect to new device. What bugs me is when previous device isn’t within reach or I have to track down what was the last device I used, or save time and plug in the wires. 🧐Not logical or practical to me.
Thanks, you are entertaining at least and turned what could be a boring review into something worth spending time on. While I can appreciate your review on the sound variation, you left out the charging, length of charge and Bluetooth connection pros and cons. But alas, it's late for me since I've already purchased these. But they were in my price range and like you said, they look awesome!
I am on my 2nd pair of Cowin e7. I love love. I just got my pair in the mail. I didn't know it but my wife bought be a pair of Beats Solo 3... The sound is the same as the Beats 3 and the Cowin e7 feel better on the ears. The only thing better about the Beats Solo3 is the name. The Cowin e7 are even easier to connect each time with bluetooth. Half the price too. I am keeping both. I'll use three Beats inside there house or gym and I'll use the Cowin for outside yard work and running. Trust me. Get the Cowin. Also easy to use for phone calls to call and receive.
The in and it sound is ok you just need to charge it... You just did an in boxing and I experienced this the same day but after my first charge it wasn't doing it any more remember blue tooth... Thanks for the review
I’m watching this and listening with my Cowin pro7. I dig your review, it’s honest and fair. They are pretty good for the price. Idk about the cutting in and out. I’ve had mine for 7 months and they’ve never done that 🤔🖤💚🖤💚
I just got these, and the first thing I noticed is the cutting out when touched or moved. It’s 2020 and this issue apparently isn’t resolved. They do look great, feel great, sound good, but this makes me question the reliability / durability.
@@TravisMCP I knew that sounded familiar when you said it. It was Fred's cousin Grady who said it, right? Oh I miss that show so much and despite having not watched it for decades, I can still "sing" along with that amazing theme song. Redd Foxx was insanely talented and hilarious. Especially loved him in Harlem Nights.
Doesn't have to be entertaining. Has to be informative. And his reviews are a little informative and greatly entertaining. do I want to be entertained or informed on headphones I want to buy?
I love these! They are amazing noise canceling when turned up on my portable cd player D-sj15 & this player makes Bluetooth sound bad oh yeah my Sony portable cd player D-sj15 provides high quality stereo sound Bluetooth not! I can use noise canceling at all times with my Sony portable cd player D-sj15 no matter what music from Latin to deep house lounge so pleased with this product! Due to my horrible sensitive hearing that burns like fire whenever hear loud laughter, fireworks, screaming, loud jet planes & noisy places once I turn up my volume all the way with my Sony portable cd player D-sj15 I can't hear the loud laughter or screaming, fireworks a little but not so bad my ears would burn like fire is coming out of them so thanks cowin for these & same for the upgrade on cowin e7 that works just as well but the e7 pro have larger bass love that!
I was wondering... you know how on headphones people can hear your music if sometimes I was wondering if people can hear your music through them. I just got them and I don’t want people hearing my music and I tried do the thing were you play your music and you take them off your head to see if you can still hear them but I feel like you can’t don’t that with these because it is headphones not earbuds
i bought these and was coming from Beats, so i had to go back to Beats, LOL love the dancing and phone call today, we love you and cant wait to meet....
Yeah there are better headphones I have reviewed that are much cheaper than Beats. I can tell you about them in person. Great to talk to you and looking forward to saying hi in person!
@JP: Don't use E7S headphones for cutting grass because those headphones are for mostly indoor toys because it might overheat in direct sunlight or get water damage from sweat.
I have had mine for about 3 months now. Seem to be doing well. I have never had the issue where if you shake em and the sound cuts out. I can shake em like crazy while listening and no change. The Noise Canceling is weird, First its not what I expected it to be which was to just completely block out sound, which it doesn't. its seems to only block out certain sounds which can almost be surreal standing close to a loud diesel truck and I barely hear the truck but can hear my friend talking just fine. I have noticed that the noise canceling does make music sound significantly less deep and vibrant so I barely have reason to use it.
You should add Fred Hammond's 'I Feel Good' to your headphone testing playlist. This song provides good, well balanced, manipulation of all the spectrums. Good use of panning and vocal harmony separation. Anyone who loves welll produced music should test headphones with this song. Just sayin'! 😎
I got the Cowin E 7 And tonight while I was listening to music and do an email I pressed the button on the headphone to change the volume, and next thing it stopped my music and I watched my computer say locked and shut it down. I have not been able to get it back up. I had something wrong with the headphones and now it killed my laptop.
Hey Travis you should look into getting your hands on any of these headphones: naztech i9, paww wavesound 3, Plantronics backbeat pros or ghostek sodrop 2. Any of those I honestly think would be great for your viewers to know about. They are all great and budget friendly headphones with good sound quality.
I have these headphones (white ones) and agree with your review. Mine have that weird cutting out as well, but the ANC works in the right switch setting. I came here to see if others were equally dissatisfied. They are “ok”, but far from the raving reviews I see on Amazon. With ANC off, I find music way too bass heavy. With it on, the sound is a bit anemic. Podcasts, news, and talking is where these things shine. Unfortunately, I bought them to listen to music. But this is where it gets interesting. I bought these BECAUSE of the fantastic reviews on Amazon. So I felt obligated to leave an honest review. I basically said they were mediocre, and that if I had to replace them I’d probably shop around before buying these again. A few days later I received an email from the seller offering an upgrade if I would delete my negative comment or change it to something more positive. DON’T TRUST THE REVIEWS! They’re basically buying good reviews so ppl like me keep buying them. Another brand doing this on Amazon is MPOW. I bought a $19 set of Bluetooth in-ear headphones and left a fair, but honest review. I said sound quality wasn’t that great, but for $19 I wasn’t expecting much. A few days later, I got an email saying they were sorry that I was unhappy in the product, and that they were sending me an upgrade and asked if I’d change/remove my negative review. A couple of days ago I received the “Cheetah” model from MPOW. $23! Lol.
Thanx for that review. Wife just bought these..wondering about cost per quality. Gives me a hmm.. BB on that. I'm good with my KOSS set w/mic can noise cancel w/software.
wow, so it seems not much people have the same issue i'm getting. I've bought both the E7 (which i sold to my good friend for dirt cheap) and E7 pro that i listened to this video with. I don't have the issue with my headphones cutting in and out when i move, it sounds more like the movement causes the speaker to jump and distort any base the song has, even worse with noise cancelling on. But my biggest issues is the microphones on both products. The mics worked but everyone complained of me sounding soft and very distant even if i screamed in to the mic.... I don't like screaming in to my device just so someone on the other end can her me...I'm not trying to let everyone hear my conversation. Otherwise, they're by far the most comfy headphones i've had (Skullcandy, Cowin, Sol Republic, all over ear headphones with mics built in to the wires). The signal is also the strongest of all headphones i've had. I can actually leave my phone/laptop in my room and walk around my house and they wouldn't disconnect. Not a good product for people who forget their phones in places lol, you'll definitely walk away without your device.
Even though it's too late now, I'd recomend trying to return them or refund them as that sounds like it was a defective model, I've had mine for a few months and they're as good as ever
I stumbled on your review and I can’t thank you enough. I am just looking for a inexpensive headset for the hubby while watching TV I would like you to recommend a particular brand. Music lovers love the bass when you start losing your hearing it’s the treble that goes first Thanks again
I've never had a problem with Cowin E7 headphones until I pressed the volume buttons on the side of the headphones. After I pressed those, the sound coming out of my headphones sounds far (dont know how else to describe it) and muffled. I've tried disconnect, reconnecting, all that stuff. Still sounds muffled! I've gotten use to it but my earbuds sound better in quality of sound.
Price points at different vendors? Value relative to other headsets? Buttons? Controls on headphones? Durability? Kinda missed a lot of important stuff.
Greatly appreciated your review, although it was from 2 years ago! I have had a pair of E7 Pro for 2 years. I know what you mean about the settings. Just curious, have you ever reviewed the E9 headphones? I just bought a pair and they were substantially more expensive. They don't seem as comfortable. I have yet to figure out which sounds better, because I guess I'm a technical idiot LOL and have not figure it out how to turn the damn E9 on! So if you have reviewed or the E7 Pro versus the E9, and you for wearing them for 4 - 5 hours, which would you choose? Thank you for a great entertaining video and I look forward to your response. All the best, Jeff
Looking for headphones that help a hard of hearing person listen to television without blasting the room. Also need to be durable as he is rough with stuff. Thanks for the solid review.
On the non-pro ones, the swivel connection broke on me probably because I mainly used them to mow lawns on a tractor. I have the pros now and I have no issues I don't know what's up with yours cutting out but mine does not.
mine just broke and is currently trying to find a way to take off the left side because it has been switching between working partially and just not working, have been looking through videos to find a way to fix it.
I just received mine (actually I bought it for my mother)... and, the noise cancelling thing actually works. It's like when you muffles your ears, pressing with the hands and etc... it has that weird feeling. Tied with actual music, podcast or whatever, it can isolate the sound pretty well. But even I felt weird after using it a while, I wonder if my mother will get used to this "high tech" bullshit. Other than that, the phone is very rigid (the arcs so to speak), there's a physical switch button that turns it on and off (that thing feels very fragile tbh)... Overall, I assume there is better constructed phones with the ANC thing in the market, I expected more. Just average.
I have the original E7s and i have never used the Noise canceling feature. I just ordered the pros for when my E7s kick the bucket and im pretty sure im not gonna use the noise canceling feature on those.
Lol I have these and had no idea the last feature was noise cancellation, I thought it was a surround sound mode. Just a heads up I’ve had mine for 3 years now and the side button suck, I always accidentally push them and end up turning the volume up all the way up or turning a video on RU-vid. Also they are not snug at all, the min I bend over or look down they fall right off.
If you want to check your audio, listen to Steely Dan they took their audio processing very serious. First music i always listen to check speaker quality.
hiya travis, I'm new to the channel :D btw your intro is really dope man!, and you look very fun doing reviews, reminds me of former LTT videos. and couple things that I could suggest for your video: 1. the head room of video, sometimes your head being out of frame(kinda bugging me :P ), maybe using fixed zoom or do a mark where you standing.. so it feels a little bit consistant to the shot. 2. why not try presenting the product on the table (like B-roll shot or permanent props to the video)? so we all know how it looks with our desk workstation/battle station. I like your video, instant subs~ I wanna see this channel grows and doing more fun collaborations.
Thanks Dion! 1. This is sometimes a personal choice. I do this because I'm bald. Having said that, I changed my camera angle fairly recently due to feedback. Thanks! 2. I do occasional B-roll but I leave that to people with better setups. Since there are literally thousands of channels that have amazing B-roll, I've decided to go a different route. So far so good. We'll see what happens in the future. Thanks for the feedback and welcome aboard! Show less
but one from a 2nd hand store one of the ear piece was alittle broke so the guy sold it to me for $5.. took it home charge it and it works fine might need some clue for the one ear piece to fix it..
@@TravisMCP I'm specifically interested in the because they look like exact Chinese factory replicas of the molds of Sony mdr-1RNC, if that's the case I can try these and if I don't necessarily like them take the hardware off and fix my broken Sony's.
Hey Travis, here's an idea, have some type of chart or some comparison of certain headphones. Say this vs the ch 500/700 vs Bluedio T5 etc. Love the reviews, but it's hard to compare the headphones against each other. (This may take a lot of time and may not be worth it for you.) Keep up the good work.... Also, say you could get these, Bluedio T5, ch500 or some others for the same price, which would you pick? Thanks
Giime a sec while I check what other customers think.....well most give them a 4 star rating and you are right about the bass heavy tracks....BTW they have them in white and red lol NO BLUE but 64% gave them a 5 star rating. Oh and theres an app to go with them so you can adjust the sound from your phone. Hope that helped. I was looking at the UK amazon site btw and thanks for trying them out with specs...next time try them with thicker ears (not yours lol) about half an inch or so. Great video tavis! Oh they come in a rose pink too and someone with glasses said she found them very comfortable.
my Cowin E7 pro is few weeks new , and after the battery died I re-charged it but the left side buzzes all the time, so annoying !! is this fault or please don't tell me it's normal???
I own the same pair. My wife liked them so much he had me go get my self a new pair because hse took my originals. Since then we have given away two additional pairs as gifts. Great bang for the buck and during the holidays i have seen them on sale for 39.95 and 49.95.
Must need an EQ. These E7's sound muffled and lacking high and mid range. I'm no audiophile but bought these to slow the damage to my hearing that earbuds have caused. Tinnitus. I have some 30 year old headphones that sound better. Earbuds sound better......or my ears are shot already....huh?...what?
