naw, OP said he brought up things about work too. Knowing that your co-worker shares details about your work to his wife, depending on the work, could be a violation. Could even be breaking confidentiality clauses. Notice he doesn't tell us WHAT he said about work. Until we have the full story, we can't really judge. Social setting with coworker aside, he's talking to his wife about work and naming names.
@@indigowulf most everyone, everywhere, also complains about coworkers and family and friends to their significant others. That's a legally binding relationship. It's also after hours, so there's not much that HR can do. I'm sure the boss talks about coworkers at lunch but his secretary won't go "🫢 I'm tellin!"
I'd take a moment off the clock to flat out tell Mary "My wife thinks you set up this poor girl, and I don't want anything to do with you outside of work." She may just incriminate herself in her response, so recording it might be in order. Thankfully they travel, so just have the conversation in one of the states with single party consent.
Story 1: what kind of thin-skinned weirdo goes to HR for something like that? They will for real tell him or her to GTFO and keep their personal problems out of the workplace.
@@DaishasDigest OP said he discussed things with his wife ABOUT WORK so not just roasting their gaming. It's very possible he violated policy telling her things and naming names about what goes on at work. If the coworker heard a violation, then it's fair game. Or if they just feel they don't want to work closely with him in the future due to hostile work environment. OP doesn't tell us WHAT he said regarding work, just that he talked about work too. Until we get the whole story, we can't judge.
@@DaishasDigestyou can and should report things to hr that are inappropriate that happen with a coworker no matter where they happen. It does not have to happen at work to be legally covered. It will affect your work relationship. At the most extreme, is a coworker or boss says something racist to you or sexually harassed you at a happy hour that is not related to work, it will affect your work place and you should absolutely report it. Especially in case you might need to sue for harassment later.
Ngl if the Ben guy is the one who is complaining and is gay or trans and the "annoying voice" the OP was ranting about is due to Ben being trans or gay Edit or if he has a speech impediment or accent then yeah I would also feel uncomfortable because that's transphobia or homophobia or ableism or even xenophobia - A LOT of transphobes and homophobes use complaining about our voices as a microagression against us for being trans there's been whole hate campaigns against trans guys for having "trans voice" so If that was the case I could see someone wanting to complain but yeah idk what HR would actually be able to do about that generally the trans person would be ignored or told to take it as a joke or be seen as a problem and pushed to resign
The first story reminds me that Zoom is currently preying on all our downfall. With that last update it always launches with the mic on. Why?? Mic off should always be the default on everything
Being straight, if you are worried people will hear you talking behind their backs and judge you for it.. simply solution is don't be the type of person that talks behind backs. And don't have intensely personal conversations while on a call in the first place, that's rude to all involved because you're splitting you attention.
Mary could be the star in Fatal Attraction. She definitely set up Carolina some type of way to be able to travel with OP again. Her sobbing to herself after he called her work sister showed exactly where her feelings are. Ugh, please keep looking for updates and keep us posted. This one is too good.
When I needed to mute my mic to talk smack at my old job. I mute it and then I say “hello” or “can you hear me” or something to make sure they can’t hear me. I’m so happy I never forgot 😂
The fact she was so upset about being called a work sister would have me going to HR asap and talking to my boss to get me a different road trip buddy. How she handled it was inappropriate and that's also why most workplaces don't have alcohol at work functions
If my sister wants to gossip she always checks her phone before just to make sure nobody is listening in by accident. 😅 Damn. I'd hate my old colleagues to hear me complain or gossip about them. That would create a hostile work environment quick sharp. You'd have to apologise profusely but what that guy said was so personal. I'd want a hole to open up and swallow me up.
WY most likely means Wyoming. My reasoning is because OP mentioned a slight Guatemalan accent for the interviewee and a midwestern accent for the hired person
I’m sort of a silent viewer. I watch all of your uploads but rarely comment. Thank you so much for being so consistent and making my days go by faster! You are one of the only people I can watch who reads these stories and it actually relaxes me no matter how crazy the stories are. Take care Daisha!
Mary, Mary, Mary 🤦🏾♀️😆 Women (mostly straight women) must not deal with romantic rejection enough if Mary outchea shootin her shot at work! LOL And in full view of other coworkers 😬
My most embarrassing unmute situation happened in a middle of a client meeting. I was sending a voice message to my mom about my dentist visit and how well they cleaned my teeth. Then I heard my manager laughing and then I saw that I didn’t mute my mic. Everyone was laughing. It was embarrassing. But client poked fun at me. For some reason I thought this would make us lose the client 😂😂 The client has been with us for 4 years now.
I’m taking it personal you’re not at 10K. Come on yall!! 🎉❤️‼️ To be quite frank, I would apologize for them, overhearing the conversation, but I would not apologize for what I said . Yes it sucks that they overheard a private conversation, but it was also just that, me sharing my private thoughts with my partner.. so I would not apologize for what I said rather than hearing it.
26:22 IDK, she seems like Mary might have some feelings for him. The hugs, work husband? It’s all inappropriate for the work place and can get you in trouble. Fired or sued.
I've heard story 2 like 7 times and it pisses me off everytime so gonna skip that one. There's no way it could be the same guy? Curly hair vs straight hair, a tan etc can make people look vastly different. If it's truly no way, he hired someone to try to benefit from DEI. I think these people are actors. They don't need or want jobs at these companies. Their job is the interviews
@@DaishasDigest I'd rather be paranoid than go through this situation. I think I would move out of my country, maybe even the continent. I couldn't handle such embarrassment 💀💀
Is it just me strictly declining any hugging at work, with clients, in any professional setting? This is weird to me to break that etiquette, whoever does it, blurrs the line of something very special that belongs wo people I love. Hugging, touching, any type of kisses, family talk, we are family type of cultish corporate brainwash I deeply hate it. Some weeks ago, my manager called me bunny and I called her bunny back coating it with and overboard professional talk so the bunny word, made the whole situation extra weird. I can't make people stop calling me this, treating me that, but I can ask my toxic self at any time, to get a job done for me and send my real self to holiday.
The "work sister" situation, even though you laughed, actually makes me sad for her. I just feel bad, no more words. He did do the right thing, though.
I get that! It was kinda sad with her crying. I hope they can get a replacement for Caroline because that’s not a good match with them two working together
If I were the person in the first story. I would burn down the game and leave my job. Change my name and move to another city. I don't think HR would do anything because the accident happened outside of work.
For the first story, I don't 100% know but I was forced to be on a long meeting with people I don't like and I had my camera on. I had to look at other screens so eventually the meeting screen ended up getting covered. When you are alone and you think no one is watching you, you might scratch stuff, you might get something to eat, or in my case...I think I had to pick my nose. I completely forgot they would be able to see me. Always mute your mic. Always have your camera off if you have to handle business...even cleaning your nose.
Daisha, i wanted to tell ya i found your other page cuz i felt like a creepy stalker 😆 but i really enjoyed your topics there and realated a lot, hope its ok
Why is she insisting he embarrassed her? He don’t want you calling him anything, that’s it! Good God, that story made me frustrated lol Edit: okay so I just finished story two and man, that’s not normal. Sounds like something out of a thriller movie. But that’s it usually is tho, do something so far fetched that it has others over looking it. I totally think it’s Mary.
People are incredibly nosy and will go to extraordinary measures to get into your personal business too though. the girl is within her rights too vent to her parent, her coworkers shouldn't have been snooping. People in my state will do whatever they can to snoop, my neighbors are career criminals who will do whatever to violate and abuse people around them
Story 1: I don't know that HR can do anything about complaints over a videogame. I mean jn that case he could be petty and complain over profanity or stuff said on the game as well (cause you know how gamers get/talk). Story 2: The husband is making me mad, why is he doubting his wife all of a sudden. I get he is trying to extend grace to Mary but...no, she doesnt deserve that. Story 3: Wth? Thats so weird...maybe he could throw a curve ball like "so remember what we talked about in the interview...?" And make him try to explain something specifically said? Or ask someone tjat speaks Spanish to try to talk with him in Spanish...? Ask about Guatemala? Surely if he has the flag, he MUST know about it, if not...he is faking it? Idk.
story 1, everyone is missing the single line he tried to gloss over when he wrote it; he said he also brought up work things in his conversation. He didn't tell us what he said, or what the guy going to HR was complaining about. It's very, very likely that he said something against his work contract- privacy violation type things or confidentiality things. Convenient for him not to tell us what the complaint was.
