Owning the ERS-7 White Mind 3 and first gen Pleo myself. Seriously looking into getting a Cozmo of my own. Nothing has ever come close since the Mind 3 software regarding anatomous behaviour with a complex and active personality. Pleo came close though, but not with the depth of Mind 3. Cozmo seems like a step in the right direction even though it still doesn't rival Mind 3 in terms of abilities and diversity. But as you said... this is a steal at 179 bucks. Hopefully Anki won't suffer the same fate as Sony's robot devision in the future.
I agree, though the software will not equal the Mind 3, it does have more personality then my Aibos. Anki uploads new apps frequently in the SDK (very easy for anyone to use) I really think you will enjoy him. Much more to do with him as well with the games with blocks etc. He also recognizes animals in your house now!
How do you think the personality/customization features compare between aibo and cozmo? I own multiple ERS 210s and an ERS 110 and love to collect AI robots.
I got a pretty good deal on this one. Keep your eye on Ebay they come up from time to time from owners who hit hard times and need cash fast. If hard times should fall on me I will let you know Khang!

Oh I already did and commented. I think this could be a great success, the costs for Humanoids are too high, have you tried starting crowd funding for support money?
Of course. Cozmo is really a wonderful pal for playing games, more like having a person in house to play games with then pushing buttons on console or phone
I'm reaaaally considering nowadays to buy one for myself, I really dig the little guy from what I seen of him. How much exactly he relies on the mobile software? I heard that it's possible to make him wake himself up when somebody enters your house for example, now I imagine something like this would be really interesting if he can do on his own considering other possibilities.
That is Aldebaran Nao. They have a much larger, and sort of cheaper robot coming out soon. Look up Aldebaran Pepper. Though it will have like a phone plan with a monthly fee
