I know it's still July. But I can't wait. Fall is my favorite season. Cool crisp weather, football, Thanksgiving, the holidays getting closer. As hot and icky as it's been lately, I could use some cool rainy days. I don't care if that makes me weird.

I played this video to study every single day in the fall of my freshman year of college. two years later it's now the fall of junior year and here I am once again... along with a lit candle this music and ambiance make the endless hours of studying in the best season a little warmer☕🍂

One of the things I've missed most since this whole pandemic is this, just sitting quietly in a coffee shop, not even necessarily with something to do... people-watching or just being in the presence of others while still technically being alone with myself... listening to the busy sounds of the outside world while being totally un-busy myself, watching the rain...

sometimes i have severe intrusive thoughts. this morning was filled with anxiety and paranoia. this soothed me in less than 5 minutes. thank you so much. i hope both sides of your pillow are cold, your charger works at every angle, you find $100 on the ground, you always flip the pancake at the perfect time and you never step on a lego

This is so soothing to my soul. I can feel myself relaxing in this coffee ship, nose deep in a good book, every so often peaking outside as the cool, crisp, wet autumn air signals the approaching holiday season.

This makes me go to sleep I used to do just rain sounds, but it got a little boring and the rain sounds were just plain and simple but this really helped me sleep because it's Jazz music over a faint sound of rain

This looks very similar to a coffee shop I walked by when I was out in downtown Vancouver last week.

I found this exact ambience on spotify over the winter, and it was my go to study playlist. I listened to it for HOURS on repeat, it would get stuck in my head. I completely forgot about it, until I was just looking for some study music and remembered THIS beautiful masterpiece. I remembered the tune of the first part after months! I am a teacher, and as part of building community with my students, I would run a Virtual CoffeeHouse, where we would sit and talk, with this video in the background. I work in a hotel that was once full of laughter and fun. Now, it's just silence. COVID has devastated the hospitality industry and almost all of my coworkers are furloughed/laid off. The winter seems so far, yet it's only about 3 months away. I miss those days where I get to look outside and see only the branches of the tree on the front, the frost on the rooftops. I miss the days where I would be bundled up in a blanket with the heater on a bit and listening to music while working on some essay or math assignment. Listening to the clatter of the rain hitting the window. The cold and wet is a huge contrast to the hot and dry of August, the state burning, and school just starting with the AC blasting.
