Just the shape and brickwork already looks like a little room to me. What a great established area to work with. The view down the little path when he was talking about making the plant feet is so pretty!!!! All the shades of green and color contrast and textures!!! Just stunning! Everything lookes wonderful. I did love his Japanese maples at the entrance, but the new square planters are very nice too.

I have that Fargesia Bamboo and I put it in pots. I'm in Zone 6. It does spread, but slowly, it has totally filled my containers in 2 years. A neighbor put some in the ground because it says Clumping but it has spread too. I found 2 Culms that came under the fence into my driveway border plantings!!

Hey Steph! Such a beautiful patio makeover…love the cozy but cool modern vibe of your design. Steph, I don’t know what your day job is but you are definitely in the wrong business. You should go into landscape design. Your beautiful yard is a testament to your incredible eye for design. Just when I think your garden can’t get better you prove me wrong and come up with a new design. Your choice of plants using color, texture and unexpected uses for plants surfaces. I am a master Gardener and have worked with many people that have degrees in horticulture and landscape design but your ability is innate. Just saying….

This space turned out beautifully. I especially love the water feature. Several years ago we had a three tier water feature on our breezeway but had to remove it since we are in a wooded area and in the evenings the raccoons would use it as their personal sink. Steph, I like the way you are able to decide on different colors of planters that work well together and the shapes add interest to your newly designed area. The bamboo, climbing versions against the house in the new planters along with ferns,Japanese Maple, etc. give the area a cozy and welcoming feeling. Your other ideas of a fountain,bench and bistro just make you want to sit down and take in all the lovely sights,relax, and enjoy a glass of wine or favorite beverage. Steph, your new room is gorgeous! Love your plant selections in the corten steel planters...hakonechloa is just so versatile. I know you will spend lots of time in this area...you are a gifted designer! Just received an "Autumn Moon" maple and planted near my Tamukeyama J. Maple...underplanted with heucheras " Berry Smoothie" under the Autumn Moon and heuchera Kiri Green Tea under the Tamukeyama. Hydrangeas "Merritt's Supreme" and "Cityline Rio" towards the front. I was inspired to get Autumn Moon after your J maple garden tour!

The $1000 dollar investment was worth it… wine glass holder is a unique feature of bench. I could sit there nights with a good Portuguese red and at the Bistro set for morning coffee!❤❤

Hi Steph new to your channel I love the placement of your new chair on your patio I had the same idea of putting my chair the other day when I cleaned off my patio after I found a table on the street someone put it out for garbage. I put it next to the back of the house but I had the chair on that wall and then I decided to put the chair facing the same way you put your chair and I love our way of thinking now we can see our guest when they come up
