Mississauga residents are heading to the polls today for a mayoral byelection that was made necessary following the resignation of Bonnie Crombie in January. There are 20 candidates registered to run in the election and most polls suggest that at least four of them are in a neck-and-neck race that could go any number of ways.

Rent and housing is THE issue. Prices skyrocketed after the pandemic. There was an entire generation of rent hikes on vacant units in 2022. In one year alone. People can't afford the city and are leaving the city. That needs to STOP.

Property taxes, pot holes everywhere , people do not want bike lines on our roads, What happened to new trees to be planted…🙄🙄🙄🙄we just see square one and city hall with flowers and maintenance…🙏🏻 Toronto is overcrowded and so is Mississauga we do not want all these condos and apartments taking corner lands in Mississauga… In Mississauga our property tax went up this yesterday 7.2%

FITTING ,MORE BIKE LANES WHERE IS HARDLY ANY ROOM, ALREADY, DOES NOT MAKE IT BETTER FOR ANYONE, I had been in many situations where it becomes dangerous to all , the cars , the bikes and the pedestrians to Top it up people crossing on RED looking on their phones like zombies and no one is respecting road rules anymore !. Adding cement blocks or planters ,as dividers, it is also very UNFORTUNATE for emergency vehicles - One Day I m on Bloor near Avenue Road (one lane for cars ) and an Ambulance got stuck because we could not make WAY because cars cannot climb over cement blocks to make room for the ambulance to get on their way !! Enough is enough people's lives can be on the line ALL because inefficient city planning !!

Mississauga residents did themselves a great disservice in electing Parrish. She's a career public servant it was time for some new blood and new ideas. Either Tedjo or Lasko would have been superior choices.
