Everybody say they failed by one point. I have convinced myself it doesn't matter cuz I would be sitting in the same boat of those who failed by twenty. I have to schedule my test. Next week is my last class.

I passed my CPC exam!! Just barely though. I took it April 2nd and got my results April 3rd. Now I am searching for a job. Any recommendations for starting out? I’m nervous about what to expect in the real world and if company’s help navigate the EMR. I learned from my books and didn’t do any cases through an online system, just practice cases.

Yes, it would be impossible to memorize the tens of thousands of codes in the code books (akin to memorizing a phone book) so the exam is open code book.

Could you let us know which book you found the anatomical illustration of the heart in for question 4? I feel like those illustrations could be really helpful during the CPC exam None of my books have a nicely detailed one like yours, but i also have the 2022 cpt book and ahima versions of the ICD books. I'm waiting for my new AMA verisons to come in the mail along with my 2024 CPT.

That 'Each' code makes me feel like such a ding-dong. I failed my second attempt at 60%, and I know for a fact I wasnt selecting codes the correct number of times because I read the description wrong.

Anyone know if the Preppy course has actual good helpful lectures? My friend and I are absolutely BUMMED trying to do the CPC prep course through the local university only to find out their "lectures" are 5-7 minutes long, 10 years old, and leave us more confused than without it, which sucks since books aren't included, CEUs aren't included, exam attempts aren't included, and we receive little to no help from the instructor. We finally got to the coding part of the class with using the guidelines and we are so confused

I took my test, first attempt on Sunday and failed. I was very nervous and ran out of time. I see that one of the things you recommend for the code search is looking at the index instead of spending more time reviewing each of the possible answers. The exams get a refresh every January 1st to reflect the current calendar year's code sets. So, even though ICD-10-CM codes might update on October 1st, those changes won't show up in the exam until the new year rolls around. 🗓️ Feel free to use last year's books, but just know you might be at a slight disadvantage. For the full scoop, check out AAPC's official guidance: www.aapc.com/certification/faq.aspx " What year's books should I use? All AAPC exams are based on the current calendar year’s code sets, so we strongly suggest you use the current year’s books. The previous calendar year’s books may be used on an exam, but you would be at obvious disadvantage doing so. The upcoming year’s books are not allowed for exam use. The exams are updated every January for the new code sets."

This one involves a job description that says it requires knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M and HCPCS coding, so I figured that the CPC exam questions help give an overview about them 🙂 is it possible to make a video about this in the future? Hi, do you recommend reading the entire question first? Or look up the codes first? Also when do you recommend looking in index for a code than just jumping to the code it self? I hope that made sense lol. I just want to be faster at it. In my first try I didn’t get to answer like 15 questions, and I was shy by 8 points to pass. Thanks for your videos. My wife took a coding class from ED to go! She aced the class. She at the point where she is taking practice tests through the 2024 study guide! She is getting everything wrong! It does not make sense! Please help, or give suggestions! She is super frustrated!

I’ll be taking my cpc in August is the exam all multiple choice? Like am I gonna have to read the case and determine what code to look for or is it gonna be like ABCD?

For 2024 the exam is 100% multiple choice.
