Awesome. Looks like a great all purpose outdoor knife. I use my Spyderco Serratta for similar cutting with anything woody and mini-machete with it as well. This looks better. Can we get a Spyderco version of this, please?
Man, that is one handsome knife. One of those would be a perfect partner for my ported chainsaws at work - big enough for anything not worth the hassle of suiting up and starting the saw for, but small enough not to get in the way like my machete’s have a tendency of doing. Beautiful handle too 👍🏻
Did you make this blade ? Excellent edge geometry and sharpness with the magnacut 👍🏻👍🏻, some people may not realize how difficult that paper towel cut is.
Yes that’s a nice knife. No sharp corners on the handle to cause blisters in the skin during hard use prolonged use in the field and it’s a top quality steel. It’s a nice size with what may be a sabre grind (not sure) with a custom heat treat I assume. I could make a gorgeous leather sheath for that. Keep up the good work Shaun…
Thanks for video. I admire your passion for modern super steels. What would be your steel of choice for a scandi grind to zero? I am searching for steel with very good edge stability at low angle. I love acute scandi grind to zero with 18 to 20 degrees inclusive edge angle without microbevel. I need steel that is suitable for sharpening on water stones with Al2O3 abrazives. (Little bit of corrosion resistance would be nice) I want to reach out to some knife maker in my country. But most knife makers don't make knives as hard as yours. What steel do you recomend for this purpouse? I am thinking about Vanadis 4E (usually around 63HRC) or AEB-L ( usually around 62HRC) or Sleipner ( usually around 62HRC) or maybe Cruible Magnacut (63HRC?) Bohler Uddeholm steels are preferred because they are easily available here in Europe. What is your opinion?
Shawn how do i contact you to get a knife? Whats the proccess?. I have been following you for years and i am willing to give my first born for a chance to buy you a knife
@Big Brown Bear how can an average hardworking brother get one of your Cpm 15 knives? When they came out they sold out before payday. I’d love to support ya, and purchase one, but it seems like you have to be almost in the “IN” crowd to get one, lol. Let me know if there is any way I can buy one. Great job with all your vids, I’ve been watching them for years.
@@kabes1776You can do whatever you like, but if you're asking for my advice, I'm telling you you should do it with a compound on leather, specifically gunny juice
For kitchen knives I strop on shapton kuromaku 2k and gives a nice bite eveytime. Anything higher I can't feel the bite with my fingertips. I'm not into edc or hunting knives so I can't comment for them.
