See, if this were any other playthrough on RU-vid, all four players would be crowding each boss. But these four player must be actual Dungeons & Dragons veterans, judging how they're keeping the Thief and the Magic-User away from the melee during most of the boss fights, or perhaps lending support while the Fighter wades in swinging. There's no shame in letting the Magic-User stand back and give the Fighter some space so that the Fighter can do what he does best.
I believe there are some but you would have to find them using in other languages other than English. I used to play Dungeons & Dragons and played it online using Mame 0.64 Kaillera with Korean players and we all lived on one credit. We used a different team which worked which is Elf (myslef), Thief, Mage and Fighter. The mage did similar strategies which you see there. The thief, it was somewhat different as the player was making the thief fly across the screen often for mobility and getting in on an attack.
Truly, one of the best D&D games ever made. Especially considering the time it was made in, there's a lot of graphic techniques and innovations. Fun dynamics, good mechanics, good gameplay design. Decent campaign setting.
They need to make a spiritual successor for this game. Truly one of the best arcade beat'em ups of the generation, and I was really happy to see when they made it available for download on Xbox and steam. Imagine what they are doing with Dark Alliance but in this kind of format. Play as the forgotten real cast under the classic Capcom beat 'em up style. That would be nothing short of legendary. Side note, I want to do some more let's plays of this game! Essentially run through the game 100% with every character taking every route in the game. If you want to join me in a session online, let's exchange steam accounts and get a party going for my let's plays!!! OLD SCHOOL D&D OR DIE!!! Cheers everyone, IVC
Ahh it makes me remember when i'm still at elementary school...i always play this game with my brother, we play this at PC and finish the game 3 times a day for almost 3 years lol...now my brother already married and to busy at working, also me don't have much time again to playing a game now because already in collage...i remember that i always imagine to be a warrior and get legendary/dragon sword lol Btw great gameplay 👍
Ok. Oh wow, I did. Back in 1998 when the cabinet was delivered to my local arcade and I was seven years old. Yeah, I died. Everybody died, because arcades are designed to make you die fast so you pump quarters into it even faster.
Seeing shit like this makes me jealous as fuck that I suck at these games. That red dragon kill was fucking PRO as shit. The magic shield window, then the LBO storm until dead after the first rock drop.
43:54 the cleric using boot of levitation, while thief kills the boss... the game wont just end,so fighter can swing the curse sword to get the sword of legend... thats something new for me, i usually play the elf or fighter and cleric heals me while i get the sword of legend..
There's also the trick that, since the cleric can't pick it up (because it's a sword), he tries around 30 times to pick it up and he doesn't. The sword transforms into the sword of legend.
@@MrNovagr An accursed sword that randomly paralyzes the user for every swing. If picked up by the Cleric 8 times, it turns into the Holy Avenger.. it was the holy avenger i think
I loved this game during my time when I was young, I can play at arcade center with just a token means Singapore 50 cents and I can last 3 hours just to used fighter. I will train very strong sword and used heal magic to heal myself during the training on my own, Long time already still don’t know can remembered to play as last time I used to be anot. Lol
This is how a coordinated team can destroy this game. I hate when people I play with online don't let me open the chest in 10-1 so I can get the morning star (I play the blue cleric most of the time). ARGH! That, and magic spam drives me nuts (the screen freezing every 2 seconds).
One of the few games you could complete a 4 player on one quarter using the legendary Highlander Mode. Sucked being the 5th player since it be a long wait and hope three of them want to play again. I was always the cleric though. I remember all frantically sliding when the dragon was sucking up breathe for his firebreathing.
Anyone knowns how to get through forest labyrinth without meeting the Black Dragon? Some guides says that you must follow to the running away Kobold direction, but very often this not work...
GeminiBlount, I have mastered some things in this game since my question ;). The correct answer is: First of all Kobold destroys tablet and if tablet is dropped to the ground - correct path shows with arrow on the tablet. If the tablet disappear - then you must go Kobold's direction.
Well, if there was ever a coin-op machine that supported 4 players at once I sure did not see it. When this game was out it was 2 ppl... Nowdays with emulators and shit everyone can pretend to be a veteran, just saying...
When I was in college, the student lounge had this in a 4 player cabinet. Fun when you could get that many people, but the constantly elbowing each other in the sides made things a bit more difficult than normal.
I can do a solo run up to the last boss without dying, maybe no likes to play with me and because of that I learned techniques on every stages of the game. sadly the last boss is really hard to kill when you are alone ...
Hi buddy, needs to have at least 3 players, after Magic user got the ultimate staff, 3 or 4 players together push button ABC at the same time, Ultimate Spell will come out.
Full runs take about three hours, I did one not too long ago in an arcade and when it was released on Steam. No damage is essentially impossible anyways, even these guys couldn't do it without taking damage. You can beat it without dieing, but if you're implying you can't beat it without taking damage you don't know shit about arcades.
