This issue of quick contraction and expansion of the palm is an aptitude point in piano as well. Lot of students who may well be advanced at some level cannot overcome a technical threshold of playing pieces in correct tempo (transitions between measures and so forth) due to a lack of development of flexibility of hand.
Very interesting! Of course I'm not really knowledgeable of such details in piano technique but it's interesting to know they hold some resemblance in this :) Indeed any instrument that requires complex finger work&combinations&stretches like guitar or piano, physical hand development is essential. I don't see how one can play at a certain level without some real training. Thank you for the input, love to learn from you guys as well! Happy new year!
Thank for the finger training. I has improved when do a simple training but gave a huge impacted. Thank you very much and looking forward for a next training. 💘 it..
WOW !!!! Amazing!!!! How do you keep distance of 2+ frets between middle and Ring finger?? I can't do this despite all my efforts!!! is there any ore exercise to make the extension??? pls pls share
It's more about the type of movement than the stretch itself.. 😉 if watch closely I don't use my fingers all curled up but a bit straighter, which helps me reach twice or three times as much distance without destroying my fingers trying to stretch. Of course the movement of middle and ring finger is anyways the hardest but try to engage better movement & hand position rather than painful stretch 🤓
7:47 I got so sidetracked because I accidentally played the Jurassic Park theme song playing the descending version of this practice by playing one note off : High EP -13-10-12-8-9 That 9 changed everything
I enjoy your stuff I have a question, what is the rule of thumb and what fingers play what. For example when I play presto from bach there is a couple of times you go straight down the strings. Now when I first learned how to play this it was with a pic, and normally I would just glide the pic straight down. But I struggle with using my thumb or using my two fingers, I@M, or just using my I finger as a pic which comes off weird as it changes my hand style to almost using my finger as a pic then back to classical style??
There's about platforms or RU-vid guitarist I listen to. I have been paying RU-vid to stop commercials on my phone my phone that I paid for so that I could have access to social media. I refuse to pay and I pray to God that you don't start throwing in commercials if you do I'm going to unsubscribe you. I'm sure that won't affect you one way or the other but I'm not going to listen to a guitar piece and a teaching and all the sudden in the middle this loud crappy noise of music is played to sell some pizza or something. I'll just go out and buy another record player and get recordings.
Hello, how to say, lesson is good, but it is little strong or hard on the idia, better to try i think on a piece of simple, melody, for exemple russians folk are good for easy one string trainings, kalinka malinka, or others, there full of thems in internat but you realy may get troubles to got, so may be simplie try to recolect melody
You're really helping me to fine tune my practice sessions, a little more concise I get more done in less time accomplished more I feel like Im moving forward. You're the real deal thank you.
thank you very much for the lesson, I had an injury in my little finger of the left hand and I lost 90% of the independence of the little finger, with this lesson I started to have a very visible recovery, much more thank you very much for everything
Hi Merce, I discovered your Chanel a week ago and play the electric Guitar are hard rock and heavy Metal , what can I say , those exercises of yours brought me a big step forward . I use them actually to warm up , and then for the songs I am going to learn. Thanks a lot . It is strange that lot of us never came to the same conclusion and figure it self out. Like You can't see the forest for the trees. Have a nice day
I am at relatives visiting for the holidays without my guitar and coming across your channel a few days ago blew my brain. I did try your exercises without the guitar and the difference it makea is sooo amazing. I have subscribed and will definitely refer my friends and music teacher to it👌🎶🎶
Hola Merce, disfruto mucho tus videos!!! Fuiste parte del Jurado Calificador del Concurso de Guitarra de Puerto Montt y yo obtuve un 3er lugar. Muchas gracias por tu calificacion!!!! Saludos!!!
Crab fingering… 😄 I love the choice of words. It does look like a crab walking sideways. Now this is a new one for me. Indeed I have seen guitarist use this technique; I just didn’t know this was what they were doing. Awesome!!! So now we have the up and down string exercise-keeping three fingers on one string while moving the fourth finger across the strings-and the sideway or cross fret exercise, as shown in this video. Magnificent, these exercises cover both directions in the fretboard. Great pedagogy! When is your exercise book coming out? There is Pumping Nylon book, why not Cross-Fret Training book! Just add my name in the acknowledgment for the idea of the title.
Hey Merce! Awesome exercise..will have to get the pdf and try this tonight! Between this and the spiders, I guess this covers all the arthropod guitar exercises. :) Yeah, the 3 and 4 fingers will probably be interesting..always seem to need to pay attention when coordinating those 2.
I have just started following your channel for a few weeks and practising under your tutorials. It works so well !! My skill has dramatically improved. Thank you so much.
Está genial este ejercicio! todo un Gym para dedos, de nuevo mil gracias por todo el material que compartes, otro ejercicio para sumar a la rutina de estudios, un abrazo desde Colombia!
Hi Zach! If you know the note intervals (steps/halfsteps or tone/semitones) distribution, you can pretty much figure out the entire fretboard with the open strings alone. If you know the first 3 frets very well, that will make it even easier. From there on, all you need to know is the distance within the notes (intervals mentioned above) and you can know any note on any string/fret on the guitar. This video talks about this system, i'm sure that will help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6yWaMitHl_s.html
It takes time. I try to slowly play through some of the easier pieces I learned only from the 5th fret and on. It was hard but now i can sight read for the seventh position more automatically.
@@MerceFont Hi Madame I let you a message on Instagram I got nails hooked What about spoon technique? Can I use it without damaging nails? Multiple times a day when I play a lot.. Cause it works for about +/- for 2 hours
Hi! @@joelpenazzo7248 I haven't had the need to use this trick for my nails so I can't give you any precise advice on that... See please how your nails react and I guess, if its not melting hot, the nail should be safe.
