Been around 18 years in Maharashtra and I can say I love the state and it’s diversity. I often times wonder how beautiful is our country….been to Punjab, Gujarat, UP, Telangana, Karnataka, WB, Delhi, Tamilnadu, J&K….such a great nation our forefathers have handed over to us. Its a Malvani food not Konkani food! Its wrong to label the entire food from west coast of Maharashtra as 'Konkani Food'. Usually the food from Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra is termed as 'Malvani Food'. The food from Goa or from karwar belt of karnataka is termed as Konkani food. This clarity is necessary to maintain the identity.
Very beautiful place with tasty food. I stayed there 2 months back, visited Sagareshwar beach, Vengurla Bandar, Sateri, Aravali Vetoba and Redi Ganpati temple.
Khup chan as usual vijay sir.. You showed vengurla and malvani cuisine in such a wonderful way with of course accompanied with sonali kulkarni. Your food journey always fascinates us.
I am from Maharashtra and it gives me immense pleasure to watch these series. Very good episode. However please avoid nagging commentary in between ( especially from Sonali), it gives sort of a negative impression :/
Intriguingly, the rice noodle you referred to as shirwale is known in Tamil Nadu as idiyappam. There, it's traditionally enjoyed with a delightful coconut milk accompaniment. Hailing from Odisha myself, I'm particularly eager to try this recipe, especially when paired with a hearty mutton soup.
