Crab Scratch Made Easy

if you do a beat with the crab scratching, the air surplus would be used when you do "out" sounds like a snare or kick drum. doing this will help your scratch last longer.

i got it almost imediately , the crab scratch sound at least, thank you very much for explaining the hand position so in depth..it really makes a unimaginable difference, oh and thanks to the commentors for the inspiration lol.

I was planning on doing a part where I covered the sounds, since I had a chart of about 30 sound combinations, but explaining them would have run the video over ten minutes. I'll find some time to make a video on that. the fast scratching just comes from practice, which you are doing so persistently!

this is great, helped much more when u pointed out the spots on your hand that match up with with point on ur mouth cause i had no idea lol i was like just shoving my hand in my face

A week is just the beginning. As I have told other people before, it took me around three months to get this sound right. KEEP TRYING!!!

I do it differently, I put my hands in a different position and it finally works! Thanks this helped a lot.

So yeah.. what I did to finally get the sound was just to pucker my lips while the corners of my mouth was on the Thumb joint and the one Index Finger joint.

I watched this video tons of time I can do the crab scratch okay now. I just need help with that one scratching part you did when you were free styling. If you could make a full depth tutorial on that, it would be much appreciated.

I finally got it OK I'll kind of teach you guys so: Doing it left hand thene I'll tell about right its pretty much the same though so you make that shape with your hand put your thumb on your left side of your mouth put your index finger or the finger right next to your thumb on the right side if your mouth thene that line you making with both your fingers suck air threw that that's how I got it and for people using right hand do same thing but put your thumb on your right side and and your index finger or finger right next to your thumb. And for people wondering why I'm saying the finger right next to you thumb is because for people that don't know what index finger is but that's its and got any question or problems tell me, also you have to practise with your that sound it might not be perfect but it still works.

I cant get the exhale and when I do the inhale I can only make the whistle but no beat halp!

wow this is a lot clearer than other tutorials

guys if you want to get the higher "v" sound he gets move your teeth(top) closer to lip(bottom)

i can beatbox but i never knew bout the crab scratch till i saw ur video thanks man im pretty good at it now ;)

I can get the basic sound and make it work with the Uvular os...blah, but i cant the other parts in between that and the "tulla" sound

@hateretah Maybe try doing it then record your self doing it and see if it sounds right, ive been trying it and usually to ur self it doesnt sound right but if u can hear your self doing it it might help

@laurence485 I think he uses his tongue to cut the sound off fast. I can't get this sound for the life of me. Going to keep trying though.

Where is the crevasse, is there a space between the thumb and the index ? (If I press thumb against index there is none...)

Dude thanks. I think I got the right position. Its sounds quite good, but I will have to practice to get it better, because its still very bad.

@ParkourEelis widen ur lips, make sure there is enough gap between ur index finger and thumb

If what you mean is that the whistle is too soft, I have the same problem

How do u do it without consuming too much air.. Because when i do it, my lungs get full with air in about 3 tu-ka and i hav too stop to breathe out.. In here looks like u can do it for way longer time of period

I was doing this for around an hour straight... I feel like im almost getting it but i cant keep it going. I had a few moments where i would get the sound out and be like "Whoa! how'd i do that..." and not be able to repeat it. Also i feel like im breathing in took quickly- but cant bring myself to get any sound out if i do slower.

HOW DO I EXHALE WHEN I AM DOING THE CRAB SCRATCH CUZ I KEEP ON GETTING MORE AND MORE AIR AND CAN'T EXHALE

I cant make this noise. I'm always too low. I can't whistle either are these related?

@mrapbeatbox its like prenouncing tsjk use the k of that and you can do the tuka tuka without choking(and dont put an english accent in it, say it like german people)

My Problem: When I inhale air, the windy noise that my lips make is louder than the scratching sound. Is there a way to make it louder, or am I doing something wrong?
