I thought I'd make a little video about crabbing in Nehalem Bay and what type of great to use and the areas I like to go to. Let me know in the comments if you want to see more videos like this! 😎🎣🤘
I use the 1/4 inch, yellow, hollow braid rope. It is inexpensive and easy to work with. Plenty strong for crab pots. To keep it from floating, I cut 4 inch pieces of pencil lead to insert inside the rope. It has worked really well for me. And doesn't break the bank.
I can't begin to thank you enough. I'm in my mid-life crisis time and have become a crabbing, fishing & clamming addict. I don't have my own boat but am planning on renting in Nehalem soon and... Without a fish finder, I was trying to figure out where to concentrate my pots... I've got a freezer full of shad so I'd better get crackin Thanks again!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching! Happy to help in any way I can. Let me know if you need anything else! Some recent Intel I got from a buddy who was crabbing Nehalem last week was there's a lot of grass and seaweed in the bay right now so it's made crabbing a little more challenging but he was getting a few keepers in each of his pots when he would check them. The crabbing is only going to get better and better as we start getting into fall!
