YESSSS!!! The ONLY true way to enjoy this hobby and really get an appreciation of it. I’ll never understand why people pay so much to collect chipboard and plastic. I used to be the type of collector that was totally against opening them, until I had a conversation with Bruce Pascal here in Md. Now the only ones that I don’t open are mainlines. Anything premium and above gets opened and displayed in my collectors room. I do however keep a set of the sweet 16 carded bcuz they were some of the 1st HWs that my father bought when I was born in 1970. I do keep the blisters of the valuable ones that I open.
