Steve Backshall's first film as 'Adventurer in Residence' for the National Geographic. Along with a team of Israeli adventurers and conflict correspondent Tzur Shezaf they attempt to descend Wadi Abu Kshev, the canyon of the whistling ghost. Steve however, does something really dumb, turning the expedition into a survival situation.

I remember Steve recalling this experience in one interview that inspired me incredibly when I watched it several years ago... But gosh... Seeing the whole injury actually happen on film... It sends shivers down my spine.

I think one of the only positives that comes from that incident is that is shows even the best can make silly mistakes and no one is above being human, something that is important to remember on expedition.

Next installment please! I lived in the Negev for 3 years, love that terrain. You can keep you jungles etc, I'm with the girl, deserts just 'get' me.
