It frightens me to then be the one that stands out for only noticing the fact he used a guessing game instead of a systematic counting order in order to find the lock combination... I mean one could argue the guessing game improves chances, but the systematic counting eliminates all chances of missing it by a close call then getting farther away. idk, may just be me but holy heck did I get bothered. In all but 1 of the combinations, there is a pattern: Number-Largest Number-Smallest Number. This was because the actual lock followed this pattern! Pretty cool unintentional part!

It triggers me that he is randomly trying codes on a 3 number lock with 40 numbers, giving a 64000 number is possible codes. Yeah I know it's not real, but imagine a lockpicking where you try 64 thousand combinations.
I think it would be pretty funny for the prison system to be slightly reworked to allow petty criminals in for like theft and yk crimes like that to able to leave if they guess a combination right but they only get a chance for every day of community service they do. Alternatively they can be shackled to the wall and have to guess it before they starve and can eat again. This will be repeated every day of sentencing.

Those master locks actually have a specific algorithm where you can narrow the combination down from patterns on where the combination gets stuck and use a math equation to find out the rest of the possible combinations. There are RU-vid videos that explain how to do this.
