Hello Sharon and Laura! So excited you are offering this. Just wanted to share my experience after my first clinic. I went home and headed out to the pasture to talk to my three geldings. The first horse - Doug, the mentor horse greeted me and said "big deal she can talk now". The second horse - chilly the joker said "Oh my gosh! This is awesome she can talk!" Third horse - Casper the insecure horse said "This is freaky - I can't handle this!"

Sounds like a nice conversation with three different personalities. It’s amazing how when we start talking to our horses they all have their own way of expressing themselves.

Oh my lord you ladies are going to get me in trouble telling 40yr. Horsewomen they have been doing it all wrong. I may just have to keep his info to myself and have them all goggle at me and my outstanding relationship building. I can not wait to ou this information into action!!! I was down a rabbit hole when I stumbled upon this video and man oh man this has been the best rabbit hole to date!!!! I am subscribed!!!!! Hello Sharon and Laura! I have your book and I am trying to teach my horse "horse language". He was saved and bottle-fed by people knowing nothing about horses, got dangerous and was abandoned for 5 years, so he never really lived among other horses to learn how to behave "normally". He is a mix of dog, human and horse. I really love this horse, he is my soul mate and we learned so much from each other over the 3 years I take care of him. I am so glad I found you (and your book) and it is great that you do videos to illustrate! Greetings from France!

Hi Jo, thank you for your comment and also helping your horse like you are! Your horse is really one of the only scenarios where we do need to teach a horse their own language. When they do not get the proper socialization, they do not know how to communicate and can become very dangerous. It would be great for you to join the Horse Speak Club…we meet on Tuesdays at 1pm and 7pm EDT. We have our club members send us their videos and we give them live coaching during the meeting. We have been highly successful with helping some really touch cases in not that much time. Check out www.horsespeakacademy.com for more details!

I will join surely some day, initially I planned to buy my horse before ;-) It is Tuesday 7 p.m. Paris time? At the moment I am not sure to be available regularly and quite busy with some other things, but I would love to join one day!

Thank you so very much for the video.I have just bought the book and am working my way through it. I stumbled upon horse speak when I was looking for information on how to communicate with a deaf horse. My beautiful little mare is deaf ,I haven’t had her long but I am now so excited about our future together. Thank you both so much for sharing your knowledge.

Iam 18 minutes in, and loving what I am seeing. I'm a clicker trainer moving from dogs to horses. My horse experience is long, but all pressure release. I use body language on dogs, and their appreciation is obvious. I am enjoying the demo so far, but I would like to see what happens, no whip in hand. Some one else could protect the fence line. I am seeing much pressure here. It brings up questions, I prolly shouldn't ask till I see the series. But horses do scrap and toughest wins. If you speak horse language, without the whip in hand, will a horse challenge your authority?

I so much want to thank you Sharon and Laura for sharing this with Us ! I only wished I had known about this when our Kizzie Sunshine was alive, I am now working with 2 recues 1 horse who is unsure and fearful, and has to think about it for awhile and a Pony who was just so full of fear, with her she is big deal, you are making an effort to talk with us, she more or less just wants her space. I am amazed at the progress we are making with both of them. Thank You again. I have so many question . :-) This is a whole new world of understanding for me . and a whole new learning processes for me.

You are very welcome - we are sorry to hear about the loss of Kizzie Sunshine and how wonderful it is you are able to help to fearful horses gain trust. Horse Speak is wonderful for working with fearful horses because you do not need to put a halter on them to have a connection and make progress in the relationship. I have been reading your first book and I’m so excited to have found your videos! The book has really helped me communicate and connect with my horse on such a deeper level. I love how it’s like a road map for being present in my body while I work with him. He’s been so receptive to all of it and our bond has grown so much stronger. So excited to learn more from you!!

I have read both your books and love this episode. Your methods have helped me bond with my new horse over the last 2 years and I am so lucky to have found your book when I needed it the most! She loves when I drive her and have her back, as her role in her heard is the watchman.

This was really terrific. I especially appreciated the way you drove the lead horse with your finger, then open palm (to create connection) and to know how important that is. Something I can take out to the herd tomorrow and practice!!! I hope I have understood that correctly! Thank you!!

Yes, you got it - the pointy finger is for direction or activation, and the palm is for connection and also holding space - "stay there - please do not cross this line."

It be cool to actually decode and Interpret the horse vocal speaking language to have us people be able to use our hearing of our ears to be able to exchange speaking a vocally language for example of how us we humans talk and interact with each other for horses can vocally speak to us learning there vocal language of what they say to what each vocal sound means

Thank you for your comment-this would be interesting to think about. From our research, we have seen horses respond to different tonal ranges high pitch versus deeper tones. Horses are prey animals, and they seem to safe loud vocalizations for emergency type situations.

This is really fascinating. 1 question. My horse sometimes will try to nip when i walk next to him. He’s really bonded to me. Is the best way to tell him no is put pressure on his cheek bc i was tapping the side of his mouth and apparently that is his “play” button so maybe i taught him to be nippy bc he wants to play? Oops. Love the back up method!

Yes the best way to ask for face space is to have your hand up by the cheek. Your horse may need you to keep your hand close to his cheek because he’s asking your where his face should be. The Play Button will activate his mouth and we do not want to be using this Button unless we are asking them to take the bit or giving them some medicine. Yes, the Therapy Back-up is an awesome way to ask the horse to back up, it’s highly affective and they really like it.

Thank you for your question regarding a stallion. Space is one of the things horses value most from us. The more you can give your horse space and pause between activities, the horse will be able to process what you are practicing with them.

Is Horse Language universal? i mean human body languages varies by origin and culture too. will horses from say, china, europe and america understand each other?

Yes, horse language is universal around the world. Their are some subtle differences with donkeys, mules, and zebra, but the baseline language is all the same.
