The plaintiffs were in bed when the 17-year-old defendant crashed into two of their parked vehicles, so the plaintiffs are suing for damages. The defendant insists his insurance company took care of all the damages, and the plaintiffs are just trying to get some money out of him.

Great to see someone who is truly remorseful when so many of these cases, the defendant’s always try to make excuses for their wrong doing. He wasn’t denying any fault and spoke truthfully and glad he learned a good lesson.

When I was 17, I slipped on black ice and crashed into a woman's fence, damn near hit her house, except the fence wedged me in so badly that my car couldn't make it far enough. I was a sobbing, slobbering mess. I felt SO bad. I was terrified and remorseful. It was my first accident ever. I'll never forget it, because the woman walked outside, and she calmly told me, "It's okay, it's just a car and a fence. This is why we have insurance. Don't let this discourage you from driving. Everyone's safe and that's all that matters." And all these comforting things. When people get into accidents and they try and shirk responsibility or it's a result of them being negligent or something, it can be angering, but in a situation like this young man, there's no reason to be angry and nasty. He clearly understood it was his fault. He was terrified. Hurt. Remorseful and apologetic. I hate plaintiffs like this. They act like they've never made a mistake in their whole life. GOD bless this defendant, Young Man! And his mother! I can't believe these plaintiffs did this to the young man. He took responsibility, openly in court. At this point they should have been grateful and been the ADULTS and cut the rest of their losses as a courtesy. Just because you can sue doesn't always mean you have to.

Wth 😒 that is not the way to truly learn from your mistakes, trust me I know ...if people let you off the hook for being dumb, and he was being dumb. The car didn't all of a sudden rear it's head like a wild horse and start running down the street smashing his wagon into all of the parked wagons. It's a car and he was trying to show off for his girlfriend by giving it to much gas as he went around the corner . And like so many other idiots have done like him, smashed up all of these cars and trucks. Sure he knows how to act and what to say, doesn't mean he doesn't need to pay for his mistakes. And at the end of the day, it's just money that he will pay.👍

The poor kid was NEVER OFF THE HOOK! That's what I'm saying... Nickel and Dimming him to prove a point is POINTLESS. This Young MAN didn't deny, refuse, doesn't have a mother trying to cover for him in any way even until the end of this judgement... I'm saying, look at his character and at least recognize and reward him with that...THAT would have a more profound effect later in his life 🙏

Hey everyone had insurance. And it sux. But the young man was VERY nice and well mannered. Thanks to a parent/parents who taught him right from wrong! I actually made sure I didn’t have either of those insurance companies. We all pay big $$ for insurance coverage and seeing it not work in cases on the RU-vid, OH HELL NAH! You know now certain insurance companies don’t cover anything. FYI: my friend and my Ex, had million $ policies with a certain insurance company, STATE FARM…. A tornado hit and 2 years later they still didn’t have a roof on their house. Yah, the content was insured for more than the outer damage. 99% of the people who got their homes fixed added extra floors and a roof that year. Read the fine print carefully!! And towing is an extra few bucks remember to get it! Because if vehicle is left along road side, you pay towing and lot fees. Insurance will not cover either unless you have it on insurance.

Well, to be fair, it wasn't a minor fender bender, he took out half the cars on the street and caused major damage, and I am sure the noise and commotion shocked and frightened them at 11 pm as they were getting ready for bed. I am sure it was a heat of the moment reaction on the plaintiff's part, and a reaction a lot of people would have had in the same situation, if we're all honest about it. I don't think the defendant's a bad kid at all, and sometimes bad things unfortunately happen. Fortunately no one was hurt, and we all do dumb things, and I think he'll get over the harsh words - and hopefully learn to be a more cautious driver.

The defendant seems like an honest person. What I found most surprising about this case was that the EMS personnel who arrived on the scene did _not_ insist on the defendant seeking immediate medical attention, in spite of the impact to the vehicle and all airbags being deployed. At the very least, I would have thought they would have urged him to get some basic tests and scans for good measure. Treating a concussion _weeks_ after the impact is very risky and the defendant was lucky that there were no major related medical problems. That being said, I know that healthcare in the U.S. is quite different than what we have in Canada and I'm sure there are nuances from state to state. I am guessing that seeking medical attention is more of a choice for the victim and they cannot be coerced to seek treatment (and probably also the cost of the ambulance transportation).
