On the last interview Stuart did (R.IP.) he did mention this was part of a deleted DVD. The Dusk video got canceled and the first one was supposed to be Funeral in Carpathia! But we got From the Cradle to Enslave, instead (as their first official video ever). Plus, the "be quick or be dead" version of Funeral is the one featured on the E.P. from this live performance.
This one is taken from MTV's show "Most Wanted" and this particular performance is the first time I ever heard of Cradle Of Fuckin' Filth! MTV was still awesome in late 90's,VH1 broadcasted this later.
mihailo stajic Me same' i saw this and I could not believe what my eyes see and my ears listen to !!!!!!!!!!!!________________________________________________________________________the drummer was insane_____ 4:44 ____
+GrindYourFuckingGuts Barker is a like a big fat drumcomputer :P I liked his work when he was with Cradle, but it sounded very unorganic and machine like during Dimmu Borgir, here, he's great, a fucking monster, yes :P
I really admire him for always being around. I mean, he has alwayys done what he really wanted to, I guess. When Cradle didn't fit for him, he switched to Dimmu (not a fan, either) than to Old Man's Child, and than fucking Gorgoroth. How dope is that?! I just really admire him for giving his part to extreme music, while being totally humble (as it appears) and always doing a great job. Awesome man for sure.
Listen to V Empire here is where Barker becomes a Lead Drummer. Absolute Class of a Musician. Coming from a big Jazz Head. This band was incredible back in the 90's
I was 10 when I saw this on tv, And this was literally one of there best performances of this song back then. Now that I’m an adult rewatching this brings back memories on how good Danis vocals were.
As a COF fan since 1995 I can firmly at that Midian was AMAZING ...AMAZING. Principle to Midian were the most amazing stuff. However their last two albums Darkly and Witchcraft were really good. I just NEVER EVER want to hear that USA bandwagon fan shit like From the Cradle and Nemphtyamine.
I remember downloading this video on Limewire in roughly 2003, thinking it was the baddest thing ever. Man this song is still a jam, it still kicks all sorts of ass, and this version in particular.
And just remember, folks, this was two decades ago! Also, I like Cradle's most recent albums, 2015's 'Hammer of the Witches' and their original version of "Dusk... And Her Embrace,' which was originally recorded 21 years prior to being released. Not only do these two most recent releases show that the band's still got it, but it also shows how dedicated and faithful Dani Filth has been to his craft throughout the years.
Honestamente "Dusk and Her Embrace" no volverá a sonar con esa bruta naturalidad de aquellos tiempos. Aún así sigo fiel a Cradle of Filth incondicionalmente. ♥
I've seen them live and watched so many live videos of them, and I still maintain that this is the best vocal performance I've seen Dani give. I'm not a hater, but I've never been the biggest fan of his live vocals, especially in the past decade or so. His high scream only sounds good when he holds it out on a continuous note and sounds like a clown when he's trying to annunciate. His spoken word vocals are even pretty decent here where it is normally pretty cringe live.
3:00 - 3:17 ... that's probably one of the most EPIC guitar riffs I've ever heard.... Im not a big fan of this band... but I always listen to this song just to hear those few seconds of absolute madness .
Best live performance of this one that I know of. I know it has to be so hard for Dani to capture all of the ferocity of the highs he recorded in the studio but this performance he does a nice job.
Dusk was recorded earlier and was release later. It was supposed to be released under cacophonus? But relasead V empire insteas. Released dusk at music for nations label. Tracks were rearranged.
@ska2808 if you would ask me, i think damien is also good. but anyways, the keyborads play important role in this band. the keyboard player must be pretty damn good.. hails!
