I have the full video from this live show. It's about 83mins long and it's one of the best live show i seen from Cradle. Mixing old COF's stuff with Damnation And a Day album. Awesomeness. I'd kill and give anything i have to be able to see them live again like if was in 1996 when Dani's voice were @ there most extreme days. Really! Anything!
What makes this song and live performance in particular is that Dani was really feeling the song and you rarely see that. I know that sometimes he dances and do the karate chops things to his performance but not to this level. The other one like this one was malice throught the looking glass in that mtv performance.
the chorus is one of the best I'v ever heard.. "This wintry eve when the snow glistens deep And sharpened turrets wed the jewelless skies I shrug off the shroud of preternatural sleep Embroided by these words Malaresia scribed``
5:15 ''Erunescent veil descend Psalmed sunset thus portends And laid to rest, I now am blessed With this darkness... Forever more''. Quintessential COF moment for me right there.
Funeral In Carpathia extracted from Dusk and Her Embrace. I my own opinion thy most wanted song of all their albums. No one can listen Cradle without applause this song. "Never leaveme" time is the better! My G*d! This sh!t really owns!
Their lyrics are just unbelievable...and the atmosphere, the feeling it involves...they used to make me feel a devilish presence, however lame/weird might that sound
I think Dani has on and off days with his vocals. I saw them about two months ago and they sounded fucking awesome. They sound pretty freakin' good here too!
I had this whole concert on dvd and i lost IT :'( and it the guy i bought it off dispeard of ebay and its not on torrent ooo how it sucks but atleast i have this song again :D:D:D:D
And i`m also a black metal vocalist for 9 years, after hearing CoF a couple of times i got inspired to start black metal singing myself. Dani only exhales. After 1 year of practicing black metal vocals, i could reach the same vocals as Dani. Nowadays i can still sound like Dani, with a few rough edges on the really high screams sometimes.
You know what? I'm sick and tired of the debate if they're black metal or not. Who gives a damn what genre they are? You don't like a band because of the genre they're in, you like it because of their specific music. Stop categorizing them and enjoy the music and if you don't enjoy it, keep it to yourself! GOD FUCKING DAMN IT! >
I actually picked it up recently in a slipcase that included Dusk, Cruelty, Midian, and Lovecraft & Witchhearts. Never looked back. I had already been listening to Nymphetamine, and some of the stuff that's easy to find (Cruelty Brought thee Orchids, Her Ghost in the Fog, A Gothic Romance, etc). And I have to say, I like almost all there stuff, but Dusk and Cruelty were their absolute best.
Inhales sound great, but most people hate bands/people who uses them because it isn't true talent and just about everyone can do them. Keep it Filthy my friend!!!
No It's inhales for higs, look up Mellissa Cross and watch it, it's called vocal frying, and Dani is on it, the Zen of Screaming, is what it is called with Mellissa Cross :P
i agree, and no it doesnt sound lame/weird.... i felt the same the first time i saw pantera live and since then i've been to many, hundreds, of concerts, and stil that show for me is the escense of what i was looking for in music in my life... that also happen the first time with COF and Behemoth... both captured all my energy and passion for this type of genre, even though is different... but anyways, this performance is one of the best of them.. just look at how much dani enjoys the song.
of course they have a black metal influence, like dimmu, behemoth and others.... But no one can deny dani's lyrics.. No one can do it like that.... Telling stories the way he does...
ExaggeratedDread your right. There are soo many posers out there that say Cradle is their favorite band but their only song they ever listened to was Temptation. They have no clue about Dusk and Cruelty.
for those of you wondering where this came from its a bootleg from montroel show GREAT show if anyone finds the whole thing let me know i had it and lost it :(
I actually agree with you. Odd but true. Their lyrics were breath taking. Nick was an amazing drummer. I guess that the band had to slow down for Adrian or something... Though I cant wait for the new album comming this summer.
His Vocals are still good, I never used to like Thornography, untill I listened to it more, I like some songs now, I still hate Temptation, and his music is more slower instrumental and Gothic rather than Black Metal. I think it sounds pretty cool. I know alot of people are starting to hate the new CoF because They have 2 or 3 songs on Much Music, and Emo kids are running around listening to them on full blast trying to look cool. Lovesick for Mina and Under the Huntress moon is a awesome song.
Songs like this don't come up every day. This is great. But I went to a live of them and they didn't play This one, they didn't play Dusk and her Embrace, Cthuthu down, summer dying fast... Why?? Why?? I was so dissapointed! Anyway! They are great! Studio or live!!!
Again people comparing past to present. Any band, metallica, ozzy, pantera, dimmu, etc, etc... None of those bands sounds the same as now. Go and check the 97 cds from dimmu and 2008 versions. Voices?? Look at phil anselmo from pantera. Go and check videos from the cowboys or beyond era and compare to the ones from the steel era...It happens to every band and thats why is a good thing cause it bring a lever of maturity into it... If you cant get past that, you cant call yourself a fan either.
