They have evolved a lot since my favourite album of theirs, Dusk and her Embrace. Band members change as much as Dani's underwear so each album sounds different but whilst I don't listen to them too much nowadays, they always have something on an album that I can enjoy. Crawling King Chaos from the last album should tickle you and you could even go as far back as Cruelty and the Beast and listen to Lustmord and Wargasm to hear the roots of their current sound. Oh and Dani's scream at the beginning of Funeral in Carpathia should be recognised as a national monument.
Love this band for how they continue to integrate the classic goth metal riffs even in new stuff. Some of my other favorite songs by them are Nymphetamine Fix, How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose, Necromantic Fantasies and the good old From The Cradle To Enslave.
Cool reaction, guys! Keep it up! If you are looking for songs akin to this one, you should consider listen to songs such as "Necromantic Fantasies", "Right Wing of the garden triptych", "Crawling King Chaos", "Blackest Magick in Practice". They are from their "newer" material...so to sa--the recent albums. I believe those songs have videos as well.
@@danw6048 oddly enough, I think I discovered the track through a resident evil movie ost or something like that. Movie OSTs used to ve a good way for ne to find music. Freddy vs Jason was my favorite.
Ach, it's a bit pop based on terms of the blueprint of the song. That album was a significant album in that they went into a more mellow and obvious blueprint of song writing.
@@metalheadsjourney No worries! They were a lot different back then - very atmospheric! Loving 'She is a Fire', though. I recommend the albums 'Hammer of the Witches' and 'Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness of Decay' if you want more of this style. Their latest album, 'Existence is Futile', is also in this style, but IMO it is the weaker of the three latest albums. 'She is a Fire' is fuckin' awesome, though!
Everyone is requesting great songs, but if you want to stick to this sound I’d try How Many Tears to Nurture a Rose. it won’t veer off from this sound. I LOVE the older music, but it’s a little different (faster music and vocals)
I first listened to Cradle of Filth probably 25 years ago when they put out a concept album about Countess Bathory who supposedly killed hundreds of girls and young women in Eastern Europe centuries ago. I thought the subject sounded interesting so I listened to the album (probably not exactly legally) which I thought was really good. Since then whenever they drop an album I would listen to the music online but have never bought an album. I have always enjoyed the music which can be very theatrical and I like his harsh vocal style especially when there is also a female vocalist. I am not a fan of the low rumble harsh vocals which, to me. can get very monotonous very fast ( I have been listening to the new Insomnium album only 2 or 3 songs at a time because of the vocals - the music is great however). I thought this song was really, really good and it definitely sounded like Cradle of Filth. The music video was well done but I found it a bit silly. To be scary it needed less gloss and more grit, along with less writhing and more violence. Overall I would give the song a solid 7/10.
Appreciate the review, this being our first dip into this band I wasn’t sure if this song was a new direction or more of what they are currently known for, if this song is a 7 I really want to hear what a 9 or 10 song from them sounds like!
@@metalheadsjourney They don't have a 10/10 song. I think 10 ratings should be very, very rare since it equates to perfection. A Cradle of Filth album I remember really liking is called Hammer of the Witches from 7 or 8 years ago. Two songs from that album have music videos and both would get an 8, possibly even 9, from me. One is for the song Right Wing of the Garden Triptych which has some disturbing imagery and blurred female nudity - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t2Y4uZ0rnRk.html The other is for the song Blackest Magick In Practice which is a bit tamer visually although I think there is a severed ear - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_hIsAEH6f5c.html Neither song is as long as the video because Nuclear Blast puts stuff at the end of both videos.
