Craft will never touch Notion unless they can come up with better database solutions than what Notion offers. Hands down, the databases is what separates Notion from the rest.
@@juergenheise28 Not going to lie, Coda.io is looking pretty good these days. They are definitely making good progress in the database realm, however I can't seem to get past the fact you can't drag an item from one db to another like you can in Notion. Notion's ability to drag anything anywhere makes it hard to replace.
@@jonathanduran3442 Agreed. Anyhow, I know this feature is highly requested from the Coda community. The Coda team always suprizes their users with fantastic new improvements. As an example, they recently added a feature to create your own templates. This started with a single page, and within a few weeks they extended It to add as many pages as you like and create a template that you can easily add to any other coda doc. Next may be the requested feature to add of move existing existing pages and their subpages to other Coda docs?
Why do you care about the databases? Are you not logging in everytime to use your notion? Or are you a developer that use the API integrations to speak with your data?
Craft is still in its early days, so it's still missing a lot of features I'd need, however, it shows a lot of promise and I'm basically about to abandon Notion, because I just don't like to keep my data solely in the cloud. With craft I have my data stored locally and synched via the cloud, that's what I prefer. That alone is the biggest selling point for me.
Your studio and brand matching is astounishing, well done, I hope we can get a behind-the-cameras footage soon or on other platforms of yours, all of the best!
Aww thanks man! Appreciate your kind words! :) I did make a video about how I make videos for my 500 special, I know it was a while ago, but the process is still roughly the same, I'll leave it below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y_UbnGYMqWQ.html
The way I see, Craft as more of a document/notes taking app while Notion is great as a team project managing tool. I use both apps, but for different porpuses and I really think they complement each other. I love that in Craft I can go straight to the point while in Notion can get a bit more creative and add more functions to a project I am working on.
Nice video. Not sure if you've done an update video, but as you said Craft is still young and quickly iterating. With Craft X, there are some extensions that are interesting. One of those is 'snippets'. which mostly solves the 'Template' ask. You can also duplicate pages, so another solution I used before I found 'snippets' was creating a 'Templates' folder and duplicating. The lack of databases does limit it compared to Notion, but Notion felt too fiddly to me... like I always felt the need to mess with things and pages and dashboards instead of just getting on with actually using it for productivity. And... the performance difference is pretty obvious. Finally, you didn't mention the cross-linking capability of Craft. This reminds me of Roam Research, which I love, and adds a lot of value in a quick entry method.
Thanks for watching, dude! Yeah I admit Craft is making a bunch of progress with improvements, I should probably check it out as it's changed since I made this video. I still love using Notion personally, but yeah I see your point. It can be fiddly haha.
I'm here a year late, but all i'm gonna say is Craft is WAY better than Notion. My god notion is such a kitchen sink i never get anything done. It's slow. Sluggish. Things I don't mean to click get clicked. It's annoying. Go Craft!
@@ElRealista. Obsidian isn’t open source, but yes there are 100s of plug-ins that are made by the amazing community and some of them are super powerful!
