Hi Siri! I would bet the felt pads would work. They are more dense than the Tim Holtz pads, so I’m not sure how that would affect the inking? 🤔. I think you’re right that the “acrossed” thing is a dialect from certain areas sort of thing. I know lots of the things I say are a “Montana thing”. But I also say a lot of Gayle-isms that no one else would think to say! 😂. I love different dialects and accents too. Love me an English or Australian accent. And love southern US accent too. @@gayleagostinelli_ct thank you so very much for taking the time to write such a long response, I really appreciate that. You may remember my son was just here. We were discussing this very topic just before he left, he’s fascinated by it too. That kid speaks and writes Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, Norwegian and, of course English. He has inherited my “ear” for languages. I firmly believe it’s something you’re born with. What I mean by that is, that some people pick up another language very easily and quickly, without much effort at all, while others can never learn one, no matter how hard they study. I’ve noticed that the people in the first group are also very musical, while the people in the last group can’t hold a tune or play the piano. Also, the people who are good at languages, are terrible at math and science, while the others excel. Just some interesting observations there☺️ My son also has this uncanny and horrendously funny talent for copying dialects while speaking one language. I mean, speaking English, but with the accents from certain areas or countries. In fact, when he was in elementary school, I got an angry note from his teacher, who said she would “not tolerate an 8 year old mimicking the way I speak in class” (she was from New Zealand). I asked him what he had said, he told me, and he sounded exactly like her. I didn’t punish him☺️ Oh dear, here I go again, I didn’t mean for this to get so long, and absolutely nothing to do with the topic of your video.

It is fascinating isn’t it all the different dialects of the same language like the acrosst ? Also, she says something doesn’t want to stick very badly when she means it doesn’t wanna stick very well. She also says she’s a Goomba when she makes some mistakes, I think she means she’s a goober because a Goomba means a friend. I have heard some people in Texas that talk with virtually no accent and others in other parts of Texas that I can’t even understand what they’re saying. Some sayings other than regional are also age related. I’m a little bit older than Gayle and I know a lot of the things she says that my parents and my relatives said that aren’t said nowadays. Like hold the phone, I don’t know if kids would know what that means. They would think it literally means you hold the phone in your hand. It’s very interesting. I never learned another language although we had Russian in sixth grade and when you’re a child it comes so much easier than when you’re adult. I don’t know word of it anymore and wish I did because we have a huge Ukrainian population where I live, although that’s another language from Russian. I was surprised when I first started watching Gayle that her accent is what I perceive as Minnesota and Wisconsin because that’s where my relatives on my mother’s side are from but it’s kind of the same. I think it’s that whole northern border of the US has that same Midwestern accent I guess and I thought it was just Minnesota and Wisconsin. I’ve lived in California all my life and when I was a kid people used to say my mother had an accent and I thought they meant a Finnish accent because she didn’t talk much English until she was six or seven, but I think they meant that Minnesota accent.

@@LynsAlteredArts my husband has relatives in Alabama. I have no clue what they’re saying. I just say “yes” and “no”, and laugh at intervals, hoping I’m doing so at appropriate spots. At first I thought Gayle is from Minnesota, cause I heard her say “uff da”, which is a typical Norwegian saying. But I guess there’s plenty of Norwegian heritage where she lives too.
