Isn't there just something so magical about a Victorian lamp shade? While my creation is far from a tried and true Victorian masterpiece, but I wanted, in the most basic sense to capture a first timers try at something that felt elegant like that.
That being said, this was such a fun project! I definitely went into this a little bit blindly but think I have found a very deep love and appreciation for hand crafting lamp shades. I can safely say I will be doing this again!

I just got a lamp at a thrift store that has no shade and I am inspired to make something Victorian myself for it now! Ty for this amazing video!

You can also use a fabric craft glue and hold things in place with clothes pins as they dry. I loved that you sewed your fabric on. If you purchase silk charmeuse, and sew it as a liner, shiny side in toward the lightbulb, it is very helpful , as far as reflecting the light, plus your lampshade will not be see through. Misting the fringe after everything is completed, straightens things out a bit too. Thank you for encouraging others to bring back an almost forgotten art.

Love the way this turned out. As for the issue with the mic. No worries. It happens to all of us. Your video still came out great. Also love the bloopers at the end. Thanks for sharing. - Nancy ❤

You could add a white liner to the inside of the lamp and easily fix the translucency.

The lamp looks beautiful! I'm thinking of refurbishing a lamp myself. Is the green fabric silk? And what kind of bulb did you use with it?

How do you know what type of fabric to use? Meaning weight/ gauge? etc.

I may have missed it, what did you use to wrap around the frame?

Really beautiful, thanks for sharing - I'm going to try this myself today! Can I suggest no music when you are talking though as it's just too much when trying to concentrate on what you are saying.

I noticed that you didn’t stitch into the binding the frame, is it better to go around it?

To be totally honest, since I was sort of feeling my way through this, I think it worked best for me in this scenario. But, I actually made a mental note for the next time I make a lampshade that I want to try to stitch into the binding throughout and see the difference. But for a first timer it worked a bit easier. I also think I need to invest in a curved needle and see if that also makes the process a bit more seamless (no pun intended ;-) ) I'll definitely be making another video for my second shade so I can compare and take notes.
