these are the same pundits criticizing him last season yet they are not pleased Chelsea want to move him on. They complain about the club having too much players but when they put someone up for sale, it's another problem. Comedians
I wish people would report this accurately. It's closer to 6 senior aged players, and around 8-10 U21and academy players bought for youth teams. It's NOT 21 players on 7 year contracts all of Raheem Sterling's calibre.. Petrovic, Kepa, Lukaku, Sterling, Chilwell, Challobah are the seniors. There's no shock departures in that group apart from the recent addition of Sterling and Chilwell who Enzo spent 5 weeks assessing..All were told in July when he arrived (with the exception of Sterling until last week because they signed JoaoFelix who's on half his wages and 5 years younger, and more tactically flexible) that they weren't in the managers plans for a variety of reasons. Some the board want to sell for pure profit like Broja and Chalobah, and Chelsea said some are "tactically obsolete" meaning can't play in Enzo system. For example Chilwell is a wingback and not a fullback. He can't play inverted fullback same as Walker at City, as he stays out wide like a winger, and Petrovic isn't good enough to play with his feet, and be a keeper who is also a 3rd centre back. Kellyman, Chukwumeka, Casedei, Datro Fofana, Angelo, Washington who were bought as youth players for the future, and then the academy players like Matos, Anjorin, Humphreys, George are some of the academy youth players who won't be in the premier league squad and will be loaned out or played in youth teams, just like every other big premier league club. Broja just signed for Everton, Humphreys is going to Burnley, Uguchukwu just signed for Southampton, Chukwumeka is targeted by Palace to replace Olise, Casedei and Lukaku are due to be part of the Osimhen deal to Napoli and some will end up on loan. There won't be 21 players moaning players in September when the window closes. Maybe 3 who rejoin the main squad or youth squads depending on Enzo. This media circus from MOTD, Talksport, Sky Sports and the rest have not painted an accurate picture of Chelsea at all. It wouldn't be that different if you added in the youth and reserve teams at City or Utd or Arsenal, but because Chelsea sign 6 players for the future and 6 for the first team they say we have 45 players on 7 year deals. It's lazy journalism and punditry.
Chukwemeka,Casadei and Datro Fofana aren’t academy players anymore. They’ve played grown men football for years now. Doesn’t matter what they were bought for but what status they have now. Would you say Mainoo is an academy player then?? He’s still younger than most academy players but he’s played first team football for 6 months now you can’t say he’s youth/academy player. You can’t compare Datro Fofana to some academy player at Liverpool.
I like how they spent half the show saying chelsea are stupid for trying to get Sterling off their books, and the second half of the show explaining exactly why chelsea need to get sterling off their books. 🤯
@@uzzy1 soccer fan spotted, as a football fan I will tell you before Ranieri coached Leicester he previously coached teams like Napoli,Inter Milan,Valencia,Fiorentina,As Monaco,Juventus,Chelsea so he was a top coach it just that you didn't know him
sterling and mudryk came with big money, difference is sterling have huge salary, getting rid of him is consistent with their policy, where else gallagher is not enzo's type of player, thats all
Why? I remember Chelsea fans being very frustrated with Sterling's output and there were conspiracy theories about why a mid player like Gallagher getr to start every game.
@@tnix80 based on what evidence? He's been at Chelsea for over 18 months and hasn't improved. Mudryk is terrible. Did you see his passes and shots yesterday? That's why he has the 2nd lowest rating after Badi.
Usually I don’t disagree with Craig’s takes but Marresca is right with what he said. He is the boss. He does what he wants. He plays and trains the players he wants. I’m not even a Chelsea fan but it’s always fck Chelsea, but what Chelsea is getting away with in the transfer window is unreal.
@russellward4624 I don't think its bohely he has a split share of 38 percent with wyss of share holding while clearlake eghbali has 61 percentage you keep mentioning bohely I guarantee clearlake is making the decisions not bohely lol 😂😂😂 remember clearlake put the most money in to the club you genuinely think bohely can tell eghbali what he wants with a small percentage of 19 percent and wyss also 19 percent 😂 while eghbali on 61 percent
As Chelsea fan, I’m glad and I’m enjoying hearing and watching all this shows , just keep talking about Chelsea transfers and Chelsea dressing room and our manager and our management, although we haven’t been that good for the last 2 years, this is shows that: in this days how some ppl keep talking about Chelsea to get more viewers and followers on social media because we are always interesting topic , and shows how big we are even when we having a difficult seasons and it’s fine carry on lads we are enjoying it, as every big club have this kind of back talkers 😂😂😂😂😂 With the all respect to one of our legends Mr Frank Leboeuf 💙
Sterling can quite literally be solely accused for Chelsea not making top 4. Not in that you can blame every player for not being good enough, but there is real tangible evidence that he sabotaged our campaign. A grown man of 29, making over £300,000 a week, knows what it takes to win games, CHOSE not to square the ball for a blatantly free, unmissable goal. Not once, not twice. Not thrice. FOUR times. All in games we would go on to drop points in. 3 points is what we needed for this entire fiercely casual and horrid outlook to change. He deserves no sympathy. It’s he who is making it an issue, when every other player that was dealt the same fate took it in stride (with exception of Lukaku 😂). Also don’t know if anyone else notices but Sterling must be paying his agent a fortune with that guy’s workrate. Always been like that too.
@@Dbo_Sports You have a reading deficiency. As I said, I can’t blame a player for not being good enough in certain aspects. What I can blame them for is selfishness and arrogance. Sterling displayed those in abundance while also being bad. He thought only of himself and how he needed to get back in the England team for his image.
This panel is wild! Endless contradictions and lack of understanding. Like a bunch of old men talking about the good old days, footballs changing lads, move with it or get left behind 😅
I'm not even a Chelsea fan but Maresca is making the best out of a shitty bizarre situation and making it clear for everyone. He should be praised for his honesty and courage in pursuing organization and order. These guys don't have a clue.
Across several media narratives most touch on themes such as "this is a business", "this is a mess", "that's just football", over and over. Yet I have not seen the media landing well (beyond isolated comments) the narrative about culture and values at the club level. I think there is an angle to explore in having a bloated squad impacting the culture at the team. Players are people and probably build friendships and relationships, seeing your coworkers and friends being moved around this way should tell you that you should expect this the tone that Chelsea management is setting, which might attract/deter players and actions from players in the pitch, market and even training. I'm not a professional footballer but many pundits were. I'd love to see people who had that experience elaborate on the potential impact of a bloated squad could have on culture of the team in more depth as opposed to repeating the same narratives over and over
Girl, it's easy to love me now Would you love me if I was down and out? Would you still have love for me? Girl, it's easy to love me now Would you love me if I was down and out? Would you still have love for me girl?
4:01 the only first team players training apart are lukaku chalobah sterling kepa and Chilwell it is 4 or 5 like usual the other 7 because it's actually 12 players are academy players who will be in the u21s please educate yourself
Exactly! Many clubs have 2-4 guys on the side who are waiting to be sold. Ex: Juve, Napoli, Barca, United, PSG. This is the transfer window, it's normal. The rest are U21s who will play with the Development squads this season. The same old waffle from these pundits is getting so boring.
Well, that is certainly not correct. Petrovic, Bettinelli, Jørgensen, Sanchez are all first team players over the age of 21, you really think 4 out of 21 players are goal keepers? Anjorin is 23 in November Fofana 23 in December, Broja is still at the club. They have Casadei and Chukwumeka on contracts to 2028, they spent €22.5 m on Kellyman (contract to 2030). They bought Angelo for €15m last and Deivid Washington for €16m last summer (both with contracts to 2029), but still went out and bought Guiu for €6m (contract 2029). All well and good buying talent, but when do they think these players will get a chance to actually play and develop? These are players going around on relative expensive contracts for what they offer on long contracts and Maresca can't find a space for them to train with the first team and have them on the bench. They bought Sterling, then they bought Mudryk, Madueke, Nkunku, Palmer, and now Neto and Joaoa Felix - basically for max 3 spots in the starting 11. That's an awful lot of money sitting on the bench, and in front of the younger talent the clubs have also bought... They spent big on defensive/central midfields in Caicedo, Enzo and Lavia, and then went and bought Dewsbury-Hall and Renato Veiga. They have at least 5 CBs in Colwill, Badiashile, Diasi, Fofana and Tosin (while trying to shift Chalobah) while at the same time have minimal cover on the right and left back with only Malo Gusto, Cucurella and heavily injury prone Reece James (Chilwell is pushed out of the team) the only clear back alternatives (Colwill and Renato Veiga have been playing there)
I’ve always told my friends what Craig said on this show, until players start being paid based on performances and not just handing them under serving contracts, things like this are bound to happen. You can’t hand a player a contract and because you want to dump him, expect him to give up his salary and leave, just because he wants to play, that’s never going to happen
Stevie is hateful to Sterling, thanks Craig, 10 goals 8 assist with a bunch of kids and bad coaching. Everyone except Palmer was bad!! Sterling and Madueke played against city Sunday would be different game. He scored against them last year and pre-season then both dropped..crazy
I am utd fan but please stop talking about Chelsea squad. You media espn and sky are making them more stress. Let them play with the players he prefer. It’s same with utd Erik plays with his preference he didn’t openly say that he didn’t like him but this Italian coach did that’s their character usually so please stop talking
There's no way there are Chelsea fans who think that a tinder box of 40+ first team players will end well. My brother in Christ, this is going to end badly.
Really Stevie Sterling is a modern professional. The statement was not needed, I agree but don't say the guy doesn't care about football. The guy won titles under Pep with valuable contribution. You don't do that if you don't care .
Your all clowns if you disagree. He should work with all the players. Hows does he know his best team if he doesn’t. How do the others get in the team. Jesus Christ the bots are thick 🤣
There is always someone out there willing to call someone who says the truth arrogant.stop calling people you don't know arrogant. It says more about you than them
The problem with Raheem Sterling is that if he stays to see out his contract, that may be the end of his Career. I don't see a team paying a player who basically hasn't played competitive football for 3 years and is 33. If he goes and takes less money, he can prolong his career by another 5 to 6 depending on how well he plays. Players are playing longer nowadays, so it's probably in his best interest to move-on.
A proper Chels here, it’s nice to know we’re relevant over decisions either good or bad. The fans should not pander to the media negative rhetoric. Although it could be a trying season now, it can only get better.
I didn't like the atmosphere at the Bridge so far I get the fans are fed up after the past three years but they need to get behind the team Maresca's system will take time. I believe it will work out well in the end with the players we have esp if we get a top striker.
Stevie has such a valid point! What will Raheem bring? He was bang average for Chelsea the whole time, bar 2-3 moments. Thank you Raheem, time for a new adventure.
These same pundits said "the players aren't good enough, Stanley needs to improve, his wages are way too much, the coach has to be bold to pick his first 11..."
Sterling should move to italy, Inter, AC and Napoli could definitely find a place for him, even if he doesn’t become a regular starter, he’d definitely get a lot of playing time
The funny and stupid part about this whole issue of Chelsea having 15-20 players training apart, 42 players, etc.. is the fact that other than Chilwell, Sterling, Broja, Chalobah, and possibly Chukwuemeka, and Petrovic (which I think both might stay or go out on loan since they are at least good and still young players), none of the other players is worth mentioning since they are too young and can either play with U-21 or go out on loan. And besides, who is the other 10-15 players apart from those 6 I already mentioned above? I just don't get it? Broja is already close to a move away to Ipswich, which leaves now Chilwell, Chalobah, and Sterling? they maybe mean goalkeepers we don't know of 😂😂
The panel are throwing non facts out. Sterling was still wanted at City but chose to leave. At Chelsea, first season Sterling was poor, last season Sterling started on fire and on occasions was unplayable but lost form badly after xmas. Very much a confidence player so a risk for any team but one worth taking.
I don’t know which 20 players they are talking about, the only 4 senior players I know off are Chilwell , Rahim , lukaku and Chalobah the rest are under 23 players
Liverpool fan here and I want Chelsea fans to tell whether Raheem was as awful last season as these talking heads are making out. I didn't watch him every week but when I did get to see him he was decent and even chipped in with a goal here and there. Now I could have been mislead by chance or whatever but if Sterling was as pony as they say, I'd rather hear it off genuine Chelsea fans that followed the team week by week. I cannot take it for granted based on these talking heads because I know how often they make baseless or badly researched statements. Especially certain names I could mention. True blues, what are you telling me?
If you ask any Chelsea fan about Sterling, the answer will be a resounding "get out" but amazingly, if you ask these so called critics if they'll have Sterling in their team, again you'll get a resounding no. It's a f*cked up sh*t.
One of the many problems is that Chelsea got a whole lot of Brighton staff, and they are trying to mould a model that works perfectly for a club like Brighton, onto a recently top side that fights for titles. Even if you accept you are no longer a top side, you can't stockpile players like that in a team that has a much bigger station than a small club using a model to earn money. Players come there because they think they have made it, not a stepping stone onto another club higher up. Further to that, they use the economic power to buy some players that are not ready made footballers, but young players with no credentials at top level.
Crazy to act like the squad is still at 45 players… it’s down to 33 with sterling, chilwell, petrovich, chalobah, Angelo, bergstrom, lukaku and more that will be gone soon.. this squad will be down to 25 total players soon
Sterling is only 29. He scored half the goals the last three years, but before that he had three seasons with 20-30 years. He just need a new enviroment.
Are these guys saying the coach should work with 42 players? You guys just find a way to criticize everything. The coach is right and he did what is right. If you know better, go become a coach.
Hate to say it but no Chelsea fan is talking about sterling. All the players they brought in & the new coach. I believe Chelsea is gonna be in the era of utd 2012-2023
Times have changed, using so many great players just in case, they may be needed, or they may hatch, so many players on the payroll, who know it and who accept not to play in a main team, when my coach told me I was in the top 15, 30years ago, I changed the club, so there are not 21 who are happy to be in the main group, and 21 frustrated. Anybody who does not figure in the eleven cannot be not frustrated, or he is doing the wrong job.
First time i ever agreed with Craig...Sterling been pretty decent in patches and good all pre season. He was way better than Mudryk on the left and Madueke onbtge right says Sterling helps him be better. He should sit on that contract, chelsea been too disrespectful to the players.
It's kind of funny because in the corporate world, subcontractors can be cut loose by given 2 weeks notice. Contractors in the sports world hold all the cards lol
Didn't know these pundits had cameras inside the Cobham dressing room, what are they waffling about. Instead of talking about the match more, they are speculating what the atmosphere is like at Chelsea.
The vast majority of the transfers in have been players that will be eligible for u21 play. Chelsea is investing in youth - they do not have 43 eligible players because they think all of them ought to have a shot at the first team this year. They’re getting smaller competitive contracts for young players instead of paying someone like Sterling an inflated wage to miss sitters.
ESPN be fair for once, pull up a list of players not training. Chalobah, kepa, sterling and chilwell are the only players without clubs right now, the rest are under 21 and academy players
Well as long as he keeps Mudryk in the team he'll be down to 20. Then injuries.Sure then he can look to the second team. And then the third! He'll be grand!
I'm with Stevie and Craig, if I'm Raheem, I'm only leaving if I get the financial package to match my current one otherwise, I'm doing a Gareth Bale at Madrid and Retiring after getting my contract's worth of finance
Some of them are really dumb. And that's why they don't prosper in anything else after being retired from playing. Most of these so-called ex pros cannot coach a team or run a club successfully, but are quick to judge others
And that's why they're trying to for Sterling out now. Because they didn't do that with him and need to move someone out to fit in Felix and possibly Oshiman.
@@timothy.covertyou are very confused. This person is saying Chelsea under new recruitment HAVE been exclusively offering incentivized contracts (a method that’s been ignorantly criticized by most pundits). Sterling came before new recruitment. They aren’t saying we’ve solved the issue lol.
