One of the true greats in the evolution of music in the UK. Started in the late 90s in garage remember at school Rewind. He absolutely smashed it then took a dip unfairly in his career. Could not be HAPPIER the way he revived his career with TS5 in Miami and HE COMPLETELY smashed it with the Justin Bieber mix Where Are You Now with Fill Me In!! Then he ABSOLUTELY killed it with My Intuition. SUPER talented.
UK R&B always kept me intrigued. The artists over there keep the soul in their music. Craig is the epitome of that. Hope he launches back in the US again. I am definitely checking for whatever he puts out. I enjoy this interview!!
David Richardson best believe it brah. I was over there for a cop years in 03-06 And man the parties was fun as shit. And the weed was crazy was smoking almost 50% thc back then. Shit makes ya crazy. LAMARR IS a beast on the vocals also.
This guy has one of the best voices I ever heard period. Born To Do It to this day is my all-time favorite R&B album. It's sad that he wasn't able to catch on too much over here in the states. He would have given Usher a run for his money
I'm from the UK garage era, this guys vocals made a whole genre of music change drastically. Some of the best UKG tunes had his vocals laid across it. Respects for helping create a scene and with the new tunes he's coming with has reignited a genre....props to Craig
So damn true. Like literally he was one of the innovators and pioneers when it came to DJing, singing, rapping, and freestyling back in the day in the 2000s. Also like one of the interviewees referred him to be the "Lightskin King."
damn yall niggaz need to stfu.. as much as I am crag's fan..drake definitely didn't copy nor did craig rap in any of his hit..so idk where all these comments are coming from.. Drake is literally a mix of both. Craig ...sings! Prove me wrong though
he got an almost legendary track from back in the day called. "Personal" if your an R&B fan listen to it... its been one of my favorite songs running for the last 10 years
Born to Do It is one of my favorite albums. That album will never get old. It’s good to see he’s still doing music. I just wish he would do a tour in the U.S.
Craig David is a Straight G!!!!! First broke out on the scene around year 2000 with a new and unique style. One of the greatest albums ever (Born to do it) and it was an intro album too. Songs like Walking Away, 7 days, Fill me in, Rendezvous are timeless classics that still sound fresh today. Awesome live singer and he was also putting down live acoustic performances before that was really in style. One of a kind artist who has awesome songs currently. His live performance at Glastonbury festival on the main stage in front of over 100,000 people was EPIC!!!! So glad he is back. He also killed the five fingers of death!! Thanks to Sway for having him on and giving him that great intro.
YOU KNOW WHAT, Rendezvous and Booty Man were my fave tunes off his debut. When I think back to 2001 I automatically think of Craig, he TRULY was the breakout star that year, and I feel 12 years old aaaall over again.
I was a radio host at FLAVA, a radio station in New Zealand. Interviewed craig once. One of rhe nicest guys, very genuine and personable. I was a huge fan, so i was stoked it was like talking to a friend.
craig david. he is very humble just to hear his voice . you can tell that this is my favourite artist of all time right there. keep up the good work brother .
Been waiting ages for this. I am so glad that my boy Craig came up to Sway's studio and did his interview and his freestyle. Wait does this mean that my dude is making a comeback here in the US. I hope so, I really hope so cause it's been a long time coming for Craig to release any music here. I pre-ordered and listened to the album already and it's dope but different and I really wish that he makes it big here again by releasing his new album. Respect and 1 love!!!!
I've been a huge long-time fan of his and I would love to see/watch him live finally. I just wish he would release an album here and do a whole US tour. Craig just needs to make it happen.
wow! I just wanted to hear his take on the 5 fingers... ended up watching the whole thing and man got bars! So humble too, love how he had to check if that was alright!
We listened to craig david all through our childhood Haha I went to see him perform in Bournemouth with my 60 year old mother, my 60 year old father who had just come out of hospital, my little brother and his Mrs and my husband. On the way out, I met one of my students with her mother, who very awkwardly asked me not to tell anyone why her daughter wont be in school tomorrow lol The show was the best show I have ever been to. So many generations partying in one room.
