That was his best segment rated everything he said, no one recruits bold anymore use the mid season and pre season draft to pick those mature age rookies up
Yes and no, it’s hardly fair if a player puts in the work off field to get into the side and be match fit only to have an injury that is out of their control and then be stuck unable to play therefore unable to tick off the performance aspects of their contract and getting stuck not being paid, no player would take the risk to sign that Plus clubs already kind of do this, bonuses are offered to players that win awards such as brownlows and club best and fairests etc. and I believe players on shorter term deals also sometimes have trigger clauses on their contracts so if they play a certain amount of AFL games or tick off other performance indicators they automatically trigger a contract extension (I believe Mason Cox triggered his during this year and therefore earned another year on his deal)
@Yianni Biris has he? Thank God for that. While I wouldn't mind him at the Crows (if the Drs could get him right) Essendon would ask for well overs to get him. Pick 20 for Hately? I thought he'd only be worth a late 2nd to early 3rd round pick. Pick 20 feels like a puck for someone who has 50-100 games under their belt
Try this : Have 1 draft and a per annum salary. Sign him for 3 years he gets 3 years. Too much trickery with the AFL. Way over complicated. So much focus on money and not the game.
