i don’t know why people say that jay/manny were a perfect couple, when jay sabotaged her audition and his only redeeming quality was being with manny. craig and manny were the it couple for me, and they were a lot better for each other in the later seasons. i just wish they were endgame.

This edit is everything and more! I especially love the last 30 seconds, showing the paralells of them taking a photo before their first date as kids and a photo when they're now adults and still happy as ever with each other. The song choice also perfectly describes their relationship! Before their break up in S6, they were always involved with each other in someway and eventually went back to each other once they could no longer resist their lingering feelings (They were shown to still be into each other in S4, so their reunion in S5 made a lot of sense to me.) I hope that if any of the original TNG characters are brought back for the reboot, Craig and Manny will be amongst them. It would be nice to see a different side of Craig that's more mature and responsible, as well as for him to apologize to Manny for how he hurt her when he was addicted to coke. I don't think he ever meant to intentionally hurt Manny, but even if it was the coke doing all the talking, it still wasn't right for him to pin his habit on her simply because he was scared that Ellie was going to tell on him to Joey. Regardless, I'd love to see Manny and Craig reconnect when they're both in better places in their lives and become on good terms with one another. I've always felt that the way their relationship ended was abrupt and provided little closure despite how important their relationship was to their individual character journeys. I know Jay and Manny were endgame and Craig was implied to be endgame with Ellie, but I have hope that Cranny could still happen in the reboot. Did you guys know that back in 2011 (mind you, this was 2-3 years after the original characters had been written out the show), the writers were developing a special reunion episode for Craig and Manny in which they were supposed to be endgame? It's not clear why it didn't happen, but my guess is that Jake Epstein was probably too busy to sign on for the episode since he was starring on Broadway and doing a lot of other theater work. Around the same time this Cranny episode was being drafted, a show called The L.A. Complex was in development. This show was originally supposed to be a Degrassi spin off about Manny's life as an up and coming actress from Toronto, trying to make it big in Hollywood. The premise of the show remained the same except Cassie Steele's character had no ties to Manny nor Degrassi. Something about this show that sticks out to me, though, is that the creators decided to keep in the part where Cassie's character (Abby) broke up with her mechanic boyfriend, who she left behind in Toronto, once she permanently moved to L.A. I believe that this was a nod to Manny's relationship with Jay inevitably becoming rocky due to their conflicting schedules and lifestyles/career choices. Piecing this all together, I think that Manny was supposed to break up with Jay and rekindle her relationship with Craig after crossing paths with him again in L.A., and this was possibly meant to happen in the L.A. Complex. It makes me devastated to know that Cranny was originally meant to be endgame but because of poor timing and factors that were out of their control (Jake Epstein also prematurely left the show to attend college which is why Craig was weirdly written out of the show in Seasons 5 and 6 even though his arc wasn't complete), it didn't happen twice. However, a part of me also sees optimism in this because clearly, it means that the writers liked Cranny and felt that there was more to their story that needed to be told. Here's to hoping that a Cranny endgame will finally come to pas in the reboot!

re-watching Degrassi and even though their relationship was toxic, they had very cute moments, and their chemistry was on fire! wish he didn't choose coke over her :/
