Picked up an old 3 wheeler to tinker on and play with. It's been sitting for a while and doesn't want to start. Check out this video and see what I did.
Ohhh the memories. I had a 185s in my childhood. Back when these ATCs could be driven in the Florida Everglades. It’s a trip to see these on RU-vid. 😃👍🏼
I had a atc 110 then a atc 185s, awesome little machines. Never got hurt on either one, important thing to remember is to lean into turns to lift the outside tire to allow it it slip. Like all things, if you drive it like a idiot, you're gonna get hurt.
Great vid .. torch tip cleaners like a work great for cleaning it’s It’s a tool with all Different size wires. My buddy’s dad is a old school mech he taught us this trick. We used to use pins and stuff till he showed us
If the carburetor has been sitting with old gas in it, may as well take it off and clean it completely, It's not going to run right without doing that. The jets will be all plugged up. SO the lesson to be learned is to empty out all of the fuel and run the carb dry before storing ANY small engine for any length of time and save yourself having to clean the carb every time you want to use it. I can tell that the idle circuit is plugged up.... makes sense because the jets and passages are tiny and plug up easily.
COMPLETELY AGREE with letting the engine run fuel out of the carb. I have the same trike and it's a 1983. Always run non-ethanol fuel in it and run fuel out of the carb when I park it, even if I'm using it regularly
They are a blast. Especially a 200cc! I had a 250 kawi in the past and it was insane. I wrecked it so many times with a smile on my face. In some ways they are more fun than four wheelers I think. Have a good one Nathan, thanks for commenting.
What happened to part 2? I get what you was trying to do with the ether, but after a couple of times if the carb wont pick up gas, just tear apart. I try to limit the use of ether.
be VERY careful with this thing, they were outlawed because people were rolling them and really hurting themselves. that being said, I'd LOVE to have one to play around with :)
Yeah they are a bit dangerous but they should have never been banned (like the Corvair). I used to have a 250 Kawasaki 3 wheeler, they are fun once you get used to how they steer. I like to use them for work on the homestead. Get a small trailer and away you go.
@@motoXcR they were very much outlawed. Like you said google is your friend. The sale of them was in the United States. In Canada the sale and ownership was banned. The bans were lifted in 98. I use to make a lot of money sell three wheelers to Canadians when the ban of ownership first lifted. I could by them for 200-400 bucks on Michigan and sell them for 800-1200 to canadians.
Around 1985-1986 the CPSC deemed ATVs unsafe for consumer use, and the only way the big 4 manufacturers (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki) could keep producing them was if they stopped production of all three wheelers for 10 years, and provided a number of safety services for the existing 4 wheelers

The mfg's did this voluntarily because of government threats. Not very free market.
The ATC WAS BANNED in 1987!! Because shitty parents back in the 80's thought that the three wheeler would make a great babysitter!! So after kids were getting seriously hurt or killed, these same no good parents got together and bitched and chewed enough saying they were "the most dangerous vehicle", and manufactures ceased all production immediately.
@@TheHandsOnChannel Exactly..they were banned in 1987. I lived through many, many ATC's/ATV's and I never as much got a scratch on me from any of them. The ATC was not the problem, it was the shitty parents thinking they would make great babysitters to kids that knew nothing about riding one or the respect that is needed when riding them.

If u do that ur gonna mess up ur motor pretty much bc it's not gas 😤 u should just clean the carb 5 minutes max to clean. Don't treat that old bad toy badly like that. Like if u agree
Never had a problem with starting fluid. I've used it for years on all kinds of different gas motors. As long as you don't use a ridiculous amount, just use your head.
