Oh I'm so sorry - I will say these humidifiers are very quiet, but yes you should hear something. I would reach out to the company crane.com themselves as this video is just a customer review. I no longer have this humidifier (although I have 3 others by the same brand), so I am sorry I can't help trouble shoot.
If I have it on FULL and place it on a low chair/table, then yes, the mist collects on the floor. The best thing is to place a thin towel underneath and locate it up higher like on a dresser top so that the mist goes OUT into the room and evaporates before hitting the floor.
I am so sorry this is happening to you. I honestly don't know, as I'm just reviewing my own experience with the product, and ours fell and broke since I created this review, so I can't tinker with mine to find out. But... maybe try doing a good cleaning and dry it out, then refill and try again? You might also try contacting the Crane company directly to see if it's under any kind of warranty? Hope it works out for you!
