Somebody needs to do a video of a friction rig for a lot of operators that are new have no idea there's a lot of them still out there and they pay good money to run but it's a whole different show these cranes like the other guy said or cherry pickers lattice booms you can take a friction rig operator and put it in those cranes and it would be fine but you can't put a hydraulic operator in a friction rig cuz it would be deadly sadly they don't even have schools to teach you how to run friction cranes they should but they don't that I know of so I guess that's a good thing for us old time crane operators they pay us extra to run them
@@bigboreracing356 close but not quite. The dogs are used as positive locks to keep the drums from releasing incase of a failure. Yes, you do engage the dogs in every instance except coming down on the drums.
@@bigboreracing356 all cranes use brakes to hold the drums. I have not seen a friction crane that hasn't had a dog on the winches. Are you sure that you've actually sat in a friction rig? Your story is getting a lot of holes in it.
@@bigboreracing356 I'll gladly take that bet. I'll also put another $10,000 that says that I have more than twice the experience that you do. They're winches son, no need to cry about it.
Dude, it sounds like breathing might be too much for you. “And PAHHHH..down here…PAHHHH…you have your..PAHHHHH…hydraulic lock….PAHHHHH” Might wanna work on that. Seriously.
