Doctors, nurses, students and staff on UT Southwestern's Neurocritical Care Team got their groove on for an original song about the cranial nerves and their functions. This is Aljean Santos' capstone project at Texas Woman's University.
Thank you so much!!! I am a 56 year old medical school student and I need all the help I can get remembering these things...music videos help so much!!!!

I am studying for my boards for my NP- and I LOVE this song! I always forget the order in which the nerves go! and if they are Sensory, Motor or both! Drives me CRAZY this song helps :) Thanks for typing the lyrics out!
so NOT joking, i've recently started an online course for medical neuroscience and i'm having trouble with the C.N topic, so far it's been the hardest topic for me to face; anyway, i'm trying to find out how the f*** i'm gonna find a way to work them 12 nerves out and memorize, not to mention LEARN their functions. and then i came across this awosme video, and guys, you've helped me so much i can't thank you enough. important thing to clarigy - english is my 2nd language so its hard for me as it is. second thing is that i'm looking into local (ISRAEL) educational programmes for the study of the brain, and this is me preparing myself and indulging my curiousity - so i dont actually get a formal education of the neuroscience stuff, im studying the science by myself and through online resources galore. so this short but perfect video clip here is such a great resource for me, i cant tell you just how much. so, for the last time now lol you rock, thanks, and the production was freaking epic! im laughing out l;oud each and every time
Lol bummer for them, it's not cheating, so... ;) also, did they ask you to stop it, or just grunted and used CN XI to express their disapproval of it? ;)
Taking my Praxis Exam tomorrow and watching this a few more times to prepare-this song has helped me through post-bac and grad school each semester. Thank you!
A friend in my ADN program shared this fun video with us for our assessment exam. I am just now listening and loving it! Can't wait to play it in the car, memorize every word, and hopefully pass my exam with this fun song!!
This video is amazing! I was listening to this song as I was reviewing my cranial nerve structures and this worked out so well for my lab practical! Thanks a bunch!
I love you guys for making this video. It really helped me on my physiology and anatomy exam. I still watch it even after the exam because I will probably need it for next semester as well in A&P
I absolutely love this cranial nerve song. I have listened to this way to many times this week. While taking my test -virtually I was being recorded, I'm sure someone laughed at my dance moves and me moving my hands. GREAT JOB TEAM!
I'm from Texas but I'm going to school in another state. I was so happy to find this video! It's helping me learn the CNs for my A&P of Speech class! Ya'll are awesome for making this
5 years later, still one of the best (probably THW best) neuroscience fun-educational treats on RU-vid 🥰🥰🥰🫶🏻 This is so good, I still remembered at least half of it correctly(ish hah) 🎉🎉🎉 Just looked it up to show my fiancé and brag about my rough knowledge on the subject lol
First one tells you the names. Second one tells you the functions. Both are in order from cranial nerve I down to XII On (Olfactory) Old (Optic) Olympus' (Ocularmotor) Towering (Trochlear) Top (Trigeminal) A (Abducens) Finn (Facial) And (Auditory/Vestibulocochlear) German (Glossopharyngeal) Viewed (Vagus) Some (Spinal Accessory) Hops (Hypoglossal) Some (sensory) Say (sensory) Marry (motor) Money (motor) But (both) My (motor) Brother (Both) Says (sensory) Big (both) Brains (both) Matter (motor) More (motor)
Thanks UTSW! I had been using a very old cranial nerve song to the Tune of Glycerine by Bush for many years but my students now do not know that song so this is much more up to date. Great job -
This helped me on my lab final with two questions, and around nine questions on my lecture final. THANK YOU! But it's been stuck in my head for three weeks...help.
This is amazing! Our teacher showed us this video in neuroanatomy class. Even though i can't memorize them all, it's still really insteresting! Thanks for making this video👍👍👍
