Making crankbaits can be a hit-or-miss endeavor. Unless you’re copying a lure you already know works well, designing your own crankbait can result in gems of junk. Any original handmade lure is a giant question mark right up to the point where you put in the water to test it. This is the first of a series of lure design videos that will give you some solid design criteria for crankbaits. I’ll be giving you simple rule-of-thumb techniques to fine tune your design so that its action is what you envision. I will share some simple lure testing techniques and show you the why and how of adjusting your lure for the right action. In this video I talk about using the tie eye placement to fine tune what I call the wobble and role aspects of the lure action.
