Had a blast fishing on the reef at Alamoana this past Saturday with my friend Derek!!! Couldn’t have wanted more. Action left and right nice size Kaku plenty of Papio and all in a short time frame. We got a little roughed up by the waves cause we went out a little late but it’s ok we still slayed it and had good fun!! It was Derek’s first time doing this so we went slow and easy. And that’s never a problem remember your partner is more important than the fish.
Also the color naming contest ends at the end of the month so get your names in!!

Definitely on the good fishing. And he went out and got his own gear, I helped but he got it all and did a great job landing the Papio.

@@JoeMamma1923u anytime actually, I go when I can when time permits. And this spot you have to go during low tide rising or high tide dropping. I find it’s better on the rise but it more dangerous so go when the waves are very low or flat.

whats the name of that clear floater on your rig? do you just tie it to the line with a swivel and use leader for the hook and soft plastic? thanks

It’s called a tough bubble the large one, you fill it with water and your mainline goes through the bubble skinny side first. Tie off to a barrel swivel that’s big enough not to get stuck inside the bubble and then your two arm span leader then hook and soft plastic.

Burn that neck alittle bit to white, need some hawaiian tan. Da papio, did you keep or did you give it to your friend for pan fry. The other fish let it go to let it grow. Easy way to take out Da hook, put your finger in da barracuda mouth to open his mouth, easy peasy to take out hook, small kind bite da finger, lol. At least catching, no white wash, hanapa all day long. You must be teaching a mainland person. Hey, after you scale da papio and gutting, you should lick your fingers, that's da best taste, so ono and no waste da taste, lol. Glad you guys had a good time at ala ala moana. Ahui Hou Malama Pono from Texas where everything is bigger, even my boto, lol joke
